Omni San Francisco Hotel

We came up from LA for the weekend to just be tourists in San Francisco. The OMNI is located within walking distance to so many areas (China Town, Financial District, Fisherman's Wharf, Embarcadero, AT&T Park, Little Italy) and is only 4 blocks from a BART station if you're wanting to go to other areas. We took BART to go to/from the airport and to the Orpheum Theater to see the Lion King. There's also a cable car stop right outside the hotel. Since the OMNI is right in the heart of the Financial District, a lot of things in that area are closed on weekends since they cater to the Monday-Friday crowd, but you'll find lots of things open just a short walk away. It was nice to stay in a quieter, less touristy area actually. The staff at the OMNI is the best you'll find, from the doorman to the front desk to the maids to room service. Upon arrival into our room, we had a hand-written note from the maid along with a note from the hotel staff welcoming us and telling us to not hesitate to let them know if we needed anything at all. Anytime we would pass a maid in the hallway, she would say hello and ask us how our day was. The doormen asked us if they could point us in the direction of anything each time we left, and they welcomed us back each time we returned. We couldn't believe how friendly everyone was, and how each person seemed to be in such a good mood, enjoying what they do. Our bed was very comfortable. We can't stop talking about the pillows! The room itself was spacious and everything was in perfect working order. The Omni is a classic hotel in great location within walking distance of the Ferry Building, lots of great restaurants, Chinatown, and Union Square. Staff is great. Maybe a little pricey but it is San Francisco so not unexpected.

Food is pricey but good, good drinks in lounge/bar, service was great, fantastic employees are all helpful.

This was our first stay at the Omni and we were very satisfied with our stay and would stay there again.

Concierge and front desk were great! We had one of the best steak dinners at Bobs steakhouse which is in the hotel! The location of the hotel was great too.

It was great and met our expectations.

My daughter and I arrived for a one day stay before flying home to Virginia. The staff at this hotel is amazing. Everyone is very nice and helpful and tolerates all the tourist questions. The doorman helped us with shopping tips and coupons, the bellmen and the valets provided great information and directions. The hotel is in a great spot with the cable car right out front.

This is a very nice hotel and I found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. My one issue was that I had requested a non-smoking room, which they couldn't accommodate (in fairness they did not guarantee that the could accommodate guest preferences). The room had the smell of using some kind of product to cover up smoke. I called the front desk, and the staff person said that there were no available rooms to which I could move. They did send someone to "ionize" the room, a process which took about 45 minutes and during which I had to leave the room. It smelled better for a little while but then the odor returned.

We were in San Francisco for a business trip and made it into a vacation, as well. Our room was very clean and comfortable. I really like the clean, up to date bathroom. All of the staff were very helpful with all of our questions about the city.

This is a great hotel for a short visit, not a longer vacation as we had. The hotel is located in the business district so most restaurants and shops close after business hrs and on weekends. Chinatown and Washington Square are in walking distance so as long as you like Chinese and Italian it's great. Otherwise go to Pier39 at Fishermans Wharf via bus service for seafood and sea lions! Most dining is in the mid to higher range in SanFran. Bus service was excellent, safe and reliable, even at night. The hotel was a little noisy at night in the hallways with business travelers coming and going at all hrs of the early morning who were not respectful of the time. There are plenty of doormen, but none who offered to assist with our luggage so we had to take our own. The housekeeping staff was excellent as well as the concierge [...]. The room was just large enough with a nice bathroom. Overall it was a nice hotel but I would not stay there again for a long vacation.
