Stayed for Business, Excellent

Everything here was well done and the location was close enough to work to be convenient, while still near fun sights. Wifi was great (which can be rare at these kinds of hotels) and the morning breakfast was excellent.

Great location

Fun old bldg architectural details. We had 1 wall of our room as exposed brick. Very close to Union square and China town. Parking garage across the street! We even walked down to Fisherman's warf.

More than your standard

Aside from the prehistoric elevator and the bare bones amenities (even though they do serve you a free breakfast - very basic but you can eat what you like as much as you want) there was very little wrong with my stay. Just don't expect a pool or a fitness center. The rooms were comfortable (if a bit spartan) and the housekeeping and maintenance staff kept everything clean and in proper order. The front desk staff was also pleasant, and answered a lot of my questions. Overall if you're young and just starting out, like me, or don't need a lot of frills this boutique hotel is a good value for your buck and is just off the popular Union Square area near the Muni bus system and the BART train systems that take you pretty much anywhere.

Union Square Visit

Nice hotel. Great bar. Staff was very friendly and accomodating The only knock is the elevator taking forever. Luckily my room was on the 3rd floor so I just walked up.

Charming hotel, terrific staff, perfect location!

We loved this hotel. Quaint boutique hotel in the heart of SF. The staff was fantastic. Wonderful and friendly. The specialty drinks offered at the bar are yummy! Highly recommend this hotel.

Filled my needs

The staff was friendly hotel was a little cramped the food in the hotel was great but would recommend bringing your own snacks or go to the little store next door . It's a good place to rest your head after a day or night on the town.

Just what I was looking for...

Small, chic, boutique hotel close to everything. Rooms are small but very comfortable. Staff was exceptional. Complimentary breakfast a very nice addition. Lots of European travelers to give it a continental air. Perfect for those wanting to get away from the chains.

Good weekend

The overall experience is really good. Just two negative points to mention: the garbage truck that comes in the middle of the night (is really noisy) and the elevator (is really really slow, be pacient).

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

Visit Pier 39. You can go by bus (#30) or by cable car to Fisherman's Wharf and then walk to the pier.
