Motel updates but only a paint job!

Not a good experience at all. While the staff was reasonably helpful they could not make up for the noise of the street, outdated showers, terrible TV options and no working elevator! Dated and tired discribes this facility.

Great dining is available almost anywhere in SF...but avoid the Presedio Social Club. Over priced and overhyped...food was less than average.

Won't be back.

At check in, the couple preceeding me didn't get what they thought they'd reserved, so I was ready for the same experience. Sure enough, the quiet room with a king bed wasn't available. I finally got the king bed, but the room was on Lombard Street, and terribly noisy. I got moved the next day to a room in the back of the building which was much quieter.

Great Trip

My trip to San Francisco was great! Loved staying at La Luna. The room was big and had a good size bathroom. The location was a little further away from where I was spending most of my time, but it was really easy to get a taxi. I really should have looked into the other modes of public transportation. Overall great experience. Only a little problem checking in. My reservation wasnt showing up[...]

Exceeded Expectations!

I went on this trip with my boyfriend, a friend and her boyfriend. This hotel exceeded my expectations- from the reviews I read, I become skeptical. After arriving the front desk man was very kind- gave me a map and showed me many landmarks. Very kind- was personable and helpful- gave me the option of a front or back room- definitely request back of hotel due to high volume of traffic along the frontside of the hotel. The room was nice and cozy- had a great heater- up to date and bathroom was nice and had great water pressure. There was great parking- but starts filling up around 8-9pm. I did not have one complaint about this hotel. Was in a great neighborhood- close to many cute shops and great restaurants. Definitely recc this hotel!!!

Remodeled TraveLodge

It's marginally cooler than a chain motel and we got a pretty decent price for SF, but wasn't impressed with the alleged "remodel."

Will NOT stay at again!

Hotel was very difficult to get into, access is a tremendous pain, especially if you are not used to San Francisco traffic. Room itself was okay, but the cable was continuously cutting out. Also, the only ventilation in the room was floor to ceiling windows that open to the walkway outside the rooms, so the windows and curtains had to be closed at all times if you wanted any amount of privacy. House cleaning staff was exceptionally loud and obnoxious, so don't plan on being in your room from about 8:00 until 4:00. Breakfast was a joke, traffic noise is very loud. The bathroom was very small as well. We were supposed to spend two nights here, but got so frustrated with the room and noise, we actually left a night early. We will NEVER stay at this location again.

Never again!

Rooms were not ready upon check in time. When finally getting to our room the deadbolt did not work. We received another room 30 minutes later. Rooms were clean but beds were like sleeping on an army cot. Light breakfast offered but couldn't drag young man away from desk playing on computer to put out more for hotel guest. Would not stay there again or recommend to anyone.

Not worth the price

Our room faced Lombard and was very noisy. Bathroom needed painting and caulking. Shower water pressure was terrible. "Breakfast" was toast and instant oatmeal. Staff was very nice.
