Our Stay
We wanted a quiet hotel next to the action, in San Francisco. Our action was sights in a big city, eg, walking around China town. Entertainment in the the square, seats and a programme of music, Union Square. Ease of transport to other interesting places that are within a few miles, the Cable Car system. The availability of things further afield, a bus to the Golden Gate Bridge and then on to Muir Woods. At the end of a day out, or a morning or just the afternoon, whenever we returned there was the peace and quiet of our hotel, and a pleasant greeting from the staff. It just seemed to take us in and we began to feel rested. A favorite of ours became the afternoon coffee and sherry, served at reasonable times and the occasional musical entertainment. It was with regret we said goodbye to staff who looked after our room and those in the foyer with their greetings and ever helpful attitude. When we return we have already selected our hotel.

great stay for my wife and I
Hotel is perfectly situated by Union Square and close to cable cars and great food.only negative is it is a tad noisy if you are a light sleeper due to deliveries and trash pickup around midnight to 2am to other stores, etc.everything else was amazingly positive. The staff was awesome from the second we walked in the doors.we loved our room and had decent view of city.area is very clean with a great fusion of people and culture.will definitely stay here again. Also if you need a ride from the airport and plan on a cab, they can schedule for a towncar or suburban for the same price.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
To see the city, get tickets from the hotel for the hop on hop off tour bus.we loved being able to stop and walk around and then hop on the bus that runs almost every 10 minutes so.we spent time at the wharf, hight-ashbury district, and other areas and loved the tour.

Right in the Heart of San Francisco
Great location adjacent to Union Square with many designer stores, cable cars, and hop off and on buses. Staff extremely helpful and accomodating. Boutique hotel, not run of the mill chain. Great bedding, robes, slippers. Served sherry and tea in the afternoon. It was a nice little luxury for us as we spent the weekend watching our son compete in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.

We took one of the many "hop off and hop on" tours to orient ourselves to our surroundings. Lots of good info about the city. The tickets were good for 48 hours.

Pleasant stay
Very clean and mellow. The beds were too small ( full size was given for 2 adults) but location and staff were great. I need a bigger bed though, which would make me think twice about staying here again.

Stay anywhere in Union Square! Many places to shop, dine, and enjoy night life. Also, get a shuttle to the airport at the end of your trip, do not pay for a cab.

Great place to stay for a week in the city
Great location with easy access to every sort of transportation imaginable. Low key but helpful staff made for a comfortable and quiet feel to lobby area. Room was clean and although not large, it was not at all cramped . Asked for and got a room on an upper floor to mitigate road noise. (Those cable cars run til 12:30 and the party scene continues on long after that.)

Try Mama's in North Beach for breakfast/brunch. The berry bread french toast and eggs benedict, YUM! Also, the steamed pork buns from Out the Back Door at the Ferry Building were wonderful. While you are there, pick up some organic fruit from the S/T/Th Farmers Markets to have your room!

Great way to end our trip
My husband's niece recommended we stay near Union Square, and this was our pick. It was a perfect location--an easy walk to public transportation, wonderful restaurants, and fantastic stores. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and nicely decorated, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A thoughtful, unusual touch was an upholstered bench in the elevator. It came in handy after a long day of walking up and down the hills of the city. Our only suggestion would be to put more computers for guests in the business center. We would happily stay there again
