Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

Only two blocks from Orpheum Theatre ("Wicked") and right next to San Fran Symphony and Ballet and City Hall. Easy to get downtown from this Inn.

Great location & price, quaint hotel

We really enjoyed this hotel. It was so convenient. We walked to & from the Orpheum, and felt safe, though had to be alert. We found parking two blocks away on the street. Our room was tiny, but had everything we needed including a refrigerator. The included continental breakfast was good. I particularly liked the friendliness of the staff.

I did not receive my suite

I reserved a 3 room 498 square feet suite. I was offered a 2 room 292 square feet suite. The suite was too small for our family of four and we did not check-in. The staff of the Inn at the Opera told us that the smaller suite is almost as good as the one we reserved. They did not apologize and blamed Orbitz/overbooking for the error. They said that I should call Orbitz (they did not have the number I did not have it either). They did not help me search for another hotel and they promised to charge a cancellation fee. I sat in the lobby of the Inn at the Opera and searched for another hotel. I found another place, put my kids and the the luggage in the car and drove to another hotel.

Perfect location, Very Lovely & Romantic

While our room was small, It was what I expected and suited us fine as we were only there to sleep. It was appointed very elegantly, had a small food prep area (sink, fridge, microwave) and basic dishes and utensils. While we were only provided with one robe, I am sure the staff would have brought another if we had asked. The staff were very gracious and friendly and went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable. We were there for our 25th wedding anniversary and it was a memorable trip. We would definitely recommend the inn to others and come back if we have the opportunity to do so. My only complaint would be the street cleaning at the wee hours of the morning. But, this is a problem with the city, not the inn. VERY ANNOYING! It sounded like a demolition derby! It should be noted that the Hotel is very conveniently located not far from many of the cities major attractions. Once we became accustomed to getting around, it didn't take long at all to get to Fisherman's Wharf and other areas of interest. Being located right in front of the major civic area was a helpful landmark when returning.
