The wonderful staff makes all the difference

A small friendly hotel with all the features I need: a comfortable bed, plenty of hot water in the morning, peace and quiet in the hallways, and... to top it off, the friendliest staff I've encountered in my many many trips to San Francisco. What a delight.

49ers trip

Inn at Union Square is a fantastic hotel! It is in a very central location with lots to do. The Wharf is less than 3 miles away and there is lots to do/see within walking distance. The staff is super friendly and they are more than willing to help you out in any way. The breakfast and wine and cheese hour is a very nice touch. Great hotel and would highly reccomend to anybody!

First time visiting San Francisco

Excellent vacation stay! The staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. The hotel's location really is just steps away from Union Square and the cable car stop. Shopping in this immediate area was out of my price range but it was fun to look. The new UNIGLO store had some great bargains and the Westfield Mall is just down the street. We loved the wine and cheese early evening snack, the breakfast buffet was too enticing, and the late evening treat of chocolate chip cookies was only missing the milk to go with them! We basically ate out only one main meal each day, which saved us dollars. Our weather was amazing but I guess the hotel can't take the credit for that! It was a wonderful trip and thank you.

Small but great service!!!

My girlfriend and I spent two nights there this weekend. From the moment we arrived the staff was very friendly and to top it off they had wine tasting for the guest (which was more like wine drinking because there was more than enough lol). While we were drinking we were entertained by the inn keeper who had stories about the old San Francisco and was very helpful on places to eat. Once in the room it's small and cozy but very clean. No a/c but does have a ceiling fan and really that's all your going to need. Great hotel!!!

Excellent location and value for heart of SF!

This is a beautiful little gem of a hotel right off Union Square. The staff is friendly and accommodating. There is a wine and cheese reception nightly that was tasty and plentiful. There is also a breakfast buffet that was excellent. Overall, an excellent place to stay if you want to be in the heart of the city and do not care for the big hotel chain experience.

Great romantic getaway

Great experience overall! The parking situation was a bit misleading. I thought it was included as they highlighted "secure parking." The charge for vallet parking was high, but what do you expect in downtown SF. They provided us with the "deluxe suite" which was very nice. They offered complimentary wine & cheese, which was a very nice touch as my husband & I were celebrating our anniversary. In the morning they offered complementary breakfast which offered a nice selection of pastries and a wide selection of other items

Nicest staff in the city

The innkeeper clearly hires only the most professional and pleasant people, and it really shows. I recommend this inn for the most enjoyable stay in SF. The added touches like extra breakfast choices and cookies at night, and the community atmosphere at the evening wine and cheese make this one of the very best places to stay. Everyone is very accommodating, and the location is convenient, with elegant rooms and good food.

Beauty and Luxury

I had a great experience here. I checked in late, but the front desk staff was courteous and friendly. The rooms are wonderful and the breakfasts and late night cookies and tea top it off.
