While the rooms are very basic, they are comfortable, and the price for what you get is very reasonable. The restaurant is ... very nice, and the person waiting on our table had a great sense of humor and was very accommodating. Overall, the hotel staff was friendly and for a place to eat and sleep at while site-seeing etc., this hotel is a great deal. Highly recommended.

I'd definitely recommend Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf. It's a really clean place in a wonderful location. I don't know if my ... experience was typical, but I also got a really good deal. I imagine it goes up during the prime season, but in the middle of December I only paid around $110 a night. Considering the location and the quality of the hotel, that's a great bargain. They also have the most helpful concierge I've ever talked with. I had an unusual question about directions to Petaluma, and she was able to help me tremendously. Her directions were perfect and saved me a lot of time and hassle. This place isn't perfect though. It sorely lacks an indoor pool and the insulation from the rooms to the halls aren't that great. I was woken up more than once by young kids running around and carrying on in the hallway. Of course, the hotel can't control that, but they could add some padding to door jams to help. It also stinks that there's no free wi-fi or breakfast. You get those things at places like Hampton Inn when you pay LESS. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It never made sense to me that you pay more for a hotel that offers less in those areas. But back on the positive side, they do have one of the most comfortable beds I ever slept in and the rooms were spotless. But of course the main point is that it's a short walk away from most things in town you'd want to see. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Notlikinit Aug 5, 2009
I would not recommend this hotel...especially with kids! The lobby of this hotel is beautiful. We walked in so excited to ... stay here! Once we got to the room level we started to smell the cigarettes. The NON-Smoking room was a little less smoky than the hall but still smoky. We all woke up feeling like we slept in a bar and my youngest daughter coughed all day. The room is decorated nicely but was dirty. The vents are covered with filth and there is stuff growing in the corners of the bathroom tiles. The tables were even dusty. Oh yeah, since we booked through Orbitz the Hyatt said they could not move our room.

All the restaurants around the area are very good. Also for breakfast one day you can go to Lefty O'Douls near Union Square, take the cable car right around the corner.
