Intimate boutique lodging near Fisherman's Wharf

This boutique-style hotel is one of the newest in Fisherman's Wharf, and it's also one of the most intimate. From the outside, a brick façade makes the place look like any other wharf building. From the inside, though, an inviting lobby (fireplace and all) and cozy guest rooms invite visitors to stay a while. The property offers complimentary town car service to the financial district. Knuckles at the Wharf is a full service restaurant on site; for Happy Hour, try local elixirs at the Enoteca Musto Coffee Shop and Wine Lounge.

Highlights
  • Located within walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf and the Embarcader
  • On-site wine bar
  • Complimentary town car service to the financial district
Rooms

Considering how retro-looking the building is, accommodations -- 313 rooms and eight suites -- are downright modern. All rooms come standard with flat-screen televisions, pillow-top beds, iHome stereos with iPod docking stations and an ergonomically oriented work desk. Many also offer stunning views of San Francisco Bay as well as Wi-Fi Internet access (fees apply).

Features

Neutral colors and crisp lighting give public areas of the Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf an ultra-modern feel. However, because rooms are cozy, the hotel conveys a sense of intimacy. For leisure, all hotel guests have complimentary access to the 24-hour business center, on-site fitness center and outdoor heated pool and spa. There's also complimentary town car service to the financial district and Embarcadero Center and baby sitting can be arranged through the concierge for added convenience.

Dining

Two on-site restaurants provide diverse dining options. At Knuckles at the Wharf, enjoy tasty cocktails or sandwiches while watching a big game. At Enoteca Musto Coffee Shop and Wine Lounge, sip wine and pay homage to an old Italian family (the Mustos, of course) while nibbling on local cheeses and snacks.

Underground valet parking is available (fees apply).

Unbeatable location for the price

We went to the SF. Chronicle Wine Competition at Fort Mason. We had a delicious dinner at Scoma's, great Irish coffee at the Buena Vista and shopped at Ghiradelli Sqauare and The Wharf. We loved the Sports Bar;great beers on tap and great n=bartenders. The complimentary buffet was extensive and delicious. The only complaint would be that there was no refrigerator which would've been great for our leftover dinners or to have for cold drinks.

Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf

The staff was accomodating, rooms were nice and spacious, and the location was great. Close to the wharf and easy access to cable cars. Complimentary breakfast was included which included a nice buffet. Extremely reasonable rates for a nice weekend away!

Great Hotel in a Very Good location!

The HYATT provided a very good location from which to venture out during a short trip to San Francisco. Only a short walk from the famous Fishermans Wharf area, and conveniently located across the street from our SBucks coffee shop for our morning caffine fix. The Restuarant was very good as well - very good service, nicely decorated, and a good mix of food offerings. The rooms and lobby area were also very nicely appointed. We got a great rate there (over the Valentines weekend), which made the stay all that more enjoyable. The only drawback I can say is that there were two bottles of water in the room with a $5.00 (each) price tag, and the vending machine down the hall vending softdrinks wanted $2.50 for a 20oz bottle of soda -- I walked down the street to a Walgreens and got water and soda for the room at half the price. The hotel recently implemented a $6.45/day parking fee for parking in their garage, something I have never understood about any hotel - why they feel they must charge $10-$40 /night for parking after paying close to $200/night for the room ---I guess it's "because they can". Keep looking the good deals are out there. Ours came with free Buffet breakfast and free parking. Overall I was very pleased with our stay here and would recommend it - for the right price.

AGAIN, just look for those deals, and even ask for them when booking --- they're out there and you can get a good deal on an otherwise very expensive room if you shop around, and don't be afraid to ask for a "deal". Also AAA and AARP discounts while usually minimal all add to the bottomline.

Great time in SF

I planned a weekend for my husband's 50th birthday with family and friends. The hotel was staff was wonderful. A bottle of champagne was delivered to our room, complements of the hotel. The room was neat, clean and very comfortable. The hotel location was great, within walking distance to the wharf, restaurants, and shopping. The food at Knuckles is yummy. The only negative thing was the parking at the hotel. After tax it was $51.00 for one night. I will go back.

Very close to the Fishermans Wharf

The Hyatt is a nice hotel and it's location is awesome. I was shocked though to find out when I got there that Valet parking cost $45.00 to stay one night. This is in addition to the room fee. If you want to use the internet you must pay $9.99. The room was nice and the heated outdoor pool and hottub were very enjoyable. One can walk to Fishermans wharf which made it very convenient. I found this hotel to be nice but very expensive. Because of the price, I will look for alternate places to stay in the future. Mary

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The Bell Boy recommended a restaurant called Scoma's. This was an excellent dining experience. Wonderful seafood and each entree is prepared with the chef's choice of sides. I found this very classy and pleasing to the pallet. A bit on the expensive side but well worth the price.
