Intimate boutique lodging near Fisherman's Wharf

This boutique-style hotel is one of the newest in Fisherman's Wharf, and it's also one of the most intimate. From the outside, a brick façade makes the place look like any other wharf building. From the inside, though, an inviting lobby (fireplace and all) and cozy guest rooms invite visitors to stay a while. The property offers complimentary town car service to the financial district. Knuckles at the Wharf is a full service restaurant on site; for Happy Hour, try local elixirs at the Enoteca Musto Coffee Shop and Wine Lounge.

Highlights
  • Located within walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf and the Embarcader
  • On-site wine bar
  • Complimentary town car service to the financial district
Rooms

Considering how retro-looking the building is, accommodations -- 313 rooms and eight suites -- are downright modern. All rooms come standard with flat-screen televisions, pillow-top beds, iHome stereos with iPod docking stations and an ergonomically oriented work desk. Many also offer stunning views of San Francisco Bay as well as Wi-Fi Internet access (fees apply).

Features

Neutral colors and crisp lighting give public areas of the Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf an ultra-modern feel. However, because rooms are cozy, the hotel conveys a sense of intimacy. For leisure, all hotel guests have complimentary access to the 24-hour business center, on-site fitness center and outdoor heated pool and spa. There's also complimentary town car service to the financial district and Embarcadero Center and baby sitting can be arranged through the concierge for added convenience.

Dining

Two on-site restaurants provide diverse dining options. At Knuckles at the Wharf, enjoy tasty cocktails or sandwiches while watching a big game. At Enoteca Musto Coffee Shop and Wine Lounge, sip wine and pay homage to an old Italian family (the Mustos, of course) while nibbling on local cheeses and snacks.

Underground valet parking is available (fees apply).

Great Spot at Fisherman's Wharf

Really nice, clean hotel at a great location. Only downside is the parking cost, but we thought it was worth it and budgeted that in.

Go to Piccoli's Cafe on Columbus for real Italian (they make their own pasta). The place is not fancy, but the dinner was fantastic! Also, Pat's Cafe was great for breakfast!

Great Service & Location

Really great staff service - from valet parking and check in to maid service. Windows open a bit, which lets in that sweet San Francisco sea air for a good night's sleep. Bed is exceptionally comfy, and room is high end contemporary. My only complaints are the room service food wasn't very good, and by the time I checked out, the great price I got had practically doubled after parking and other charges had been added. Otherwise, very nice San Francisco hotel.

Nice people and rooms, but expensive for what you get.

Staff was very nice and rooms recently renovated. Expensive for what you get. You are paying for the good location in the wharf and is walking distance to most things. Don't rent a car because you don't really need one, plus it is way too expensive to rent and even worse to park.

Great Choice

Welcoming efficient staff, clean updated room includes wifi and iPod docking station. One block to the wharf and a short taxi ride to financial district and union square. Walk to little Italy and China town. For location and price compared to many other higher priced properties you get a great value. Our room rate included a $150 credit to spend @ property, covered valet and a couple of drinks which otherwise would end up on your closing bill. This was our second stay and will stay again next time in the City by the Bay.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you don't plan to drive any long distances, use cabs. Valet and parking costs around city added to your rental rate will end up costing you more than using local transportation and walking in the city is safe. Rent a car only for a long drive and then get rid of it.
