Chose this hotel because it was the closest and best value I could find. The bed looked super comfortable on the website, so I chose it mainly because of that. I got to the hotel and was helped with my bags and offered wine. The room was nice, and
clean. Construction going on so it was noisy for a couple hours but stopped around 8pm. The bed was HORRIBLE. Very very stiff and made a lot of noise when you moved. I didn't get a good sleep, and I needed one for work. :( It was disappointing. When I left the front desk man gave me an umbrella and let me pull into the garage so I didnt get soaked. The service and location are the only things that make this hotel redeemable. :)
The murals on the walls in the common areas, rooms and even the elevators were interesting and unique. The beds were very comfy and the rooms were clean. My only issue with this venue was the parking situation. They don't have enough parking for
hotel guests and we almost got stuck having to park at an off site lot. They charge $25/day for parking so keep that in mind when you book this hotel.
Lots of great walking around. Stayed there last year, too. This year seemed maybe smidge not as clean but don't hold me to it--believe it is now a Kimpton Hotel last year was a Joie de Vivre Hotel no idea what the difference is. Really a pleasant
stay. Japan Center very close. Filmore St is nice to walk around.

Short walk from hotel
Sweet Maple restaurant was terrific. Best breakfast I've had in years. Sub out the potatoes for berries and even feels healthy.

Hotel Tomo exceeded my expectations. The hotel was very clean, in a great location and the staff was courteous and helpful. My stay there was very pleasant and I will stay there again when I visit San Francisco.

When visiting San Francisco bring a good pair of walking shoes, you'll need them.
It's next to Japanese center. The location is very convenient. I rented a car and could park on the street next to it. It's 10 mins drive to fishermen wharf.
The hotel is renewed with Japanese style. It's clean, nice.
Customer service is good. I
come with my wife and baby. They keep me a special room without neighbor so that my baby cries won't affect others.
This hotel has a good location to public transportation to take you into the real heart of SF, but I expected a little more from it.
No pool, no microwaves in room and no breakfast, but they did have a wine night 5-6 every night while we were
there. The rooms did have fridges though, which was nice.
Also though, all 3 nights we stayed there I was awoken early in the AM to the sound of trash trucks. We were on the front of the building. It was very loud. You could hear street noise at night too.
