Excellent! We love the Hotel Griffon.
Hotel Griffon is our choice when ever we visit San Francisco. It has a great location. Reastaurant has a fabulous menu. Staff and accomodations are excellent!

Fantastic and upscale.
I was in San Francisco to do the San Francisco Marathon. I chose Hotel Griffon primarily for it's cheap rates and its close proximity to the race start/finish. The hotel was as advertised and would not hestiate on returning to that hotel again. The free internet lobby stations was great. Alot of hotels charge for internet use, which sucks. I would recommend this hotel to a friend.

Understated class
After a long day of travel the quiet and unobtrusive front desk process was a welcome change from the usual hubbub. The room was cozy and well appointed, the dining was casual and delectable, the front desk knowledgeable and helpful, the location safe and picturesque, and the overall experience comfortable.

Perfect home base for business or sightseeing
We chose this hotel for 2 reasons: its location just off the Embarcadero and the $1.00 valet parking on the weekend. However, the Griffon Hotel was even better than I had anticipated: quaint, comfortable, charming and clean. My sister and I had requested early check-in and for our luggage to be held after check-out time; both requests were cheerfully accommodated. The view from our window wasn't bad, but if I were staying here again, I would request a room with a view of the bay (although that would probably cost more). The only reason I gave 4 stars for room comfort was that it was quite small - but ok if you're not spending much time in your room. Amenities had 4 stars due to only fruit and coffee for breakfast. Everything else was outstanding - we loved it, would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to friends. Oh - another plus is it's close to all forms of transportation and even offers a ride to the Financial District on weekdays!

Amazing Stay
While driving up for a spur of the moment trip, I happened to see a special for this place. It was an amazing stay for the value. The room was small but super cute. Great robes in the room. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice. fyi, parking is not included and if you allow them to valet it, it is an extra cost of 40 bucks

Bad Check in
The front desk staff was very courteous and friendly. The rooms were small, but quaint for a 100 year old hotel. The view of the bay was spectacular.

The Fisherman's Wharf was a short street car ride away with a pick up station located within 1 block of the hotel. There were plenty of restraunts within walking distance and lots of shopping within a few blocks.

Convenient location
The Hotel Griffon was a cute, well located hotel that was favorably privced. The view from my 1 window was of an air-conditioning vent covered in bird droppings.
