Loved the location
I would definitely stay here and would recommend this hotel. It is close to the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman Wharf area. The only thing that bugged me was the fact they boast about their "green" hotel, but the shower head leaked.

Fisherman's Wharf is a 30 minute walk from the hotel. From the Wharf you can rent a bike and ride across the Golden Gate bridge.

It was a great deal for what you got. Charming remodel and very courteous and helpful staff. Walls were a little 'thin' but thankfully neighbors didn't stay up too late. I would return!

Good location, excellent staff
1 block from Lombard St and 2 blocks from Union St shopping and dining. Hotel is well maintained and friendly, helpful staff. The beautiful people on Union St turn into the noisy people when the bars close. If you have an early event on the weekend, take a sleeping pill. We parked the car at the hotel and took a cab to Nob Hill and North Beach areas. If you have time, public transportation is great. The neighborhood is good and safe to walk after dark. This hotel is not fancy, but they have dressed it up well and free parking in SF is hard to come by.

Good for kids
Walked to Fisherman's Warf and Pier 39. Found a mexican resaraunt for dinner one block away. Night noise was awful but it is San Fransisco after all. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. Great to have free parking and a little breakfast included!

Fun and great value!
Staying here with three people for three nights made our visit to the city really enjoyable. Staff was very accommodating in getting us a room that was accessible in a wheelchair (manageable in a manual one, probably not in a powered one). We had a small suite that worked very well for us. The interior and exterior are really tastefully decorated in mostly primary colors that give the place a sunny and friendly character. Next time we visit S.F. we'd definitely stay here again!

Adorable Hotel
The hotel on the outside was very adorable. Bright colors. A few problems was that there wasn't many parking. Our room was right by the stairs and the elevator. So it was very noisy. But then it is San Francisco. But we dealt with it. I love the fact that the room felt like a very small apartment minus the kitchen. The walls were very bright with paint.

Great location, very nice hotel
We loved the location of the hotel. It was right between the shops and restaurants of Union and Chestnut Streets. It was an easy walk down to the bay, for a morning run to the Golden Gate bridge. You could also take the bus easily to Fisherman's Wharf or up the hill and down to the Mission/Haight/Castro. The hotel is very coloful, and the staff was quite attentive. The room was great, with a small patio and big closet. And we really liked having a pool. Breakfast is included every morning and is excellent. Bagels, muffins, yogurt, and oatmeal. The coffee was also excellent and is served all day.

There's a small bike rental shop just around the corner from the hotel parking lot on Lombard. It's much cheaper than the tourist trap bike rentals of the Embarcadero.

decent place to stay
The hotel was clean and the staff was nice and helpful. The beds were only full size, but I knew that when I booked the room. The pool was decent sized and had an 8' deep end which my kids loved. Breakfast was minimal, but I also knew that when I booked. We just parked our car and used public transpertation, so parking was not an issue for us and it's free here. Our room was perfectly quiet. It was a little spendy, but it was a decent place to stay. I liked all the bright colors. It was a little off the beaten path, but just about a block from the bus stops for either direction.
