This is a lovely hotel, but lacks the most basic requirement. The ability to sleep! The lobby and room are very nice, well decorated, and clean. Comfy bed, nice bathroom. On checking in the front desk person warned me that it can be noisy. I asked
for a non-street vew room, but was told there weren't any available. It wasn't just a little noise. There is a night club across the street and for hours the noise was so bad I wasn't able to sleep at all. I may as well have been in the club with them. If you're planning to enjoy late night partying yourself, this might be an option for you. Noise ended around 3am. But I was there for work, not a good choice.
The location can't be beat. This hotel is close to every kind of public transport and you can also walk to most things. Our Urban Suite was wonderful. Great space. A very comfortable bed. It was wonderful to have a mini fridge and the extra
sitting area with another TV for a week-long stay. The attached restaurant is fantastic and the service from the hotel was top notch.
Booked after a mutual reccomendation and also the location. It lived up to almost everything with no problems whatsoever, except there was a valuable item taken (or stolen) from my room. After inquiring about it for the remainder of our stay, the
cleaning staff was almost never available, or the manager was not there to open the lost & found. Item was never recovered, but these things do happen-- very lovely hotel * adjoining bar and restraunt.
Staff was friendly and lobby is inviting. Don't book a deluxe queen room unless you are alone. Room is extremely small and uncomfortable for more than 1 person. Room can be stuffy and air conditioner is loud.
Exterior rooms on Ellis street are
across from a club. Interior 'courtyard' rooms are just inside rooms that look in the opposite room's window.
There are better options in the city's for the price.
This hotel is walkable from the Powell St BART and muni stations so you can avoid the parking fees. Parking is $40 to $50 a night depending on size of the car but you will have high parking anywhere in the city.
There were 3 of us in a room with 2 double beds. A bit on the small side but I think the location and cleanliness of the hotel more than make up for that. The room faced the inside so it was super quiet on a Friday night.
Ok hotel. Nice trendy downstairs with a very small room. Not as nice as the predecessor in that location but ok. Price was pretty high for the value but I guess that is the going rate in San Fran these days.
