Great stay

Let me just start by saying that the location could not be any better. You can take the BART from the airport and walk a block from the Powell exit and you are checked at the gorgeous Abri. It's also right by the cable car stop. This hotel has been remodeled while keeping the old charm of the building that SF is known for. The staff was very nice and helpful. Great value for the area

Noisy Guests Across the Hall

I don't know if this is typical, but there was what sounded like a college-aged group of non-stop party hearty kids making an enormous racket both nights of our stay. The first night, the booming music stopped before midnight, so wasn't too bad. The second night, the noise continued non-stop til 4AM. We were very surprised that the staff did nothing about it. Wouldn't stay here again.

Good location

Located in Union Square- streets filled with tourists; great for shopping, eating and drinking. Friendly relaxed staff. Small room furnished well - stayed in a room facing a wall to avoid noise from the street, were given a choice. Noisy and fun hotel, full of young people.

A great value in the heart of Union Square shopping

Although this hotel doesn't have the amenities of the big chains, it is a great spot right in the heart of the Union Square action. It is near all the shopping, BART stops, and the cable car turn around, so a good central spot for our journeys to various neighborhoods in the city. Our Napa tour picked us up at the front door. The staff were extremely friendly. The rooms, although a bit on the small side, were well-appointed, modern and clean. We asked for an inside/quiet room so we wouldn't have the street noise.

Vacation time!

Location is superb! We were in need of a one night stay after checking out of another the same night. I made quick and easy reservations and booked a room with no hassle the same night. The staff were professional and courteous. The room I got was nice for what I paid, but lacked comfort.

Great location

Hotel Abri is located very close to a Bart station, right in Union Square. It's walking distance to many hot spots in SF. Other than location, the hotel is nothing more than what one would expect from a three-star hotel--neither great nor terrible. It was clean, all around a good place.

Not bad, not great

It's quite expensive for pretty basic living conditions, even by San Francisco standards. The best part about this hotel is definitely its location--right in the middle of everything--and perhaps that's the draw. Still, I wish there had been an option to include the Valet Parking fee in the original price we paid for the reservation. Getting this charge tacked on at the end, after having already paid a fair amount for the room, made the stay feel a bit overpriced. The staff was accommodating and friendly, and the bed was comfortable. In the end, that's really all that mattered, since we were out in the city most of the time and only returned to the room to sleep.
