A very nice hotel

The staff was extremely helpful and the hotel was really nice. The rooms were large and very comfortable. It was easily accessible to all transportation -all you had to do was walk out the door to catch a bus or cable car to take you where you needed to go or to connect you to another form of transportation to get you someplace. It was well worth staying here.

Comfortable stay in San Fran

I was only in San Francisco for 2 1/2 days and this was a great spot to stay. It was on a direct bus route to the Wharf, direct access to the cable car and right down the street from the Herbst Theater where I was going for a show. Very nice staff and room was average but comfortable and I had a great view of the city.

Great Location

A great location for cable cars and buses. A coffee shop right next door that opens at 5:30am. The area is very clean and feels pretty safe. A lot of homeless in SF but the hotel keeps them moving along at all hours. No benches/seating for smokers outside because of the homeless, but it is a very nice sheltered area. The gift shop has great hours, open till 10pm, they sell transport tickets and are very helpful with local events and locations. The front desk staff is VERY friendly and helpful. On our first trip the beds were SO comfy, our last trip, not so much. I guess it depends on the room. Try to get above the 7th floor because of traffic noise. All in all, I will return to this hotel and recommend everyone give it a try. Also, airport shuttle service is great for this location and there is usually a taxi waiting out front, if not, it will be by momentarily. East side views are great. There's a small grocery and nice italian house on the back side (block).

Cable Cars at the intersection of Cal. & Van Ness, goes to all points for cable car transfer. Buy tickets (3 or 1 day) in gift shop. HUGH savings.

terrible internet service

Service at cafeteria (breakfast) was very slow, and didn't provide buffet as advertised. Wifi connection was terrible, extremely slow and stopped constantly. Parking in the hotel was very expensive.

regular ol' hotel

Nothing special. Had what you'd expect. Wifi was just a little bit flaky, but complimentary. Staff was sometimes curt, and refused to be flexible about an accidental $15 movie charge. No breakfast. I doubt my wife will go back.

Nice NYE Vacation--Lousy Concierge

We came in for NYE weekend, and were very happy with the front desk, room, liked the parking being onsite. Beds very comfy and got a great night's sleep each night. One thumbs down aspect that I have to mention--the "concierge" in the gift shop...although very eager to help, had NO IDEA about nightlife for NYE. C'mon, folks, if you are going to be SOLD OUT for NYE, dontcha think you should have concierge services that are prepared? Spent WAYYYY too long over 2 days with them browsing Google with slow internet for ideas. One gal had lived in SF all her life and had never ever gone to a club, had to call her boss on her cellphone to ask what to look up on the internet. Gave us the wrong address to first club and we ended up in the bad part of town. Like I said, LOUSY concierge. What a joke. In the end, we did our own research and found our own way. Hotel room good overall.
