girls' weekend getaway

Nice hotel, nice rooms, and close to everything that we were interested in seeing/doing. On the downside, parking cost $53 for one night!!! And, that was self-parking! Outrageous! $47 + $6.53 for a city tax! That is more than double what I've paid in Seattle, Portland, Tampa, Miami, etc! There is a parking garage across the street that offers parking for $32/night. If you can, park there!

Mediocre at Best!

Hotel rooms are on the small side. You could hear everyone talking that walked by you door, as if they were in bathroom. Water smelled like a wet dog when you took shower or used sink. Towels had hair and brown spots on them. $117 for 2 nights of parking Outragious! Great view and bed was comfy.

nice place to stay!

It was for just one night and we arrived late and left by 10am. The room was good and the bed was comfortable, but someone walked in our room at 8am without knocking or anything which I thought it was really weird. An hour later one of the cleaning staff knocked on our door to ask at what time we wanted the room to be cleaned but we only had a one night stay and checkout was at noon. So, I felt like they just wanted us to leave. The other downside is that everyone who walked by the hallway sounded like they were in our room.

Quick get away

The Hilton hotel-Union Square in San Francisco is a clean, ideally located hotel. Lots of shopping, dining, drinking places nearby. I got a good price (169) however be advised there is a 47 fee to self park in the Hilton garage. Also city fees and taxes brought the price to 250. The staff was uninterested, hurried and not welcoming.

Not bad, not great.

I was in town two days for a business meeting. The hotel is typical Hilton, as long as you get a renovated room. Clean, nice, modern. I had a non-renovated one at first which was large but not great (old furnishings, dirty carpet), but the staff was great about changing me to a renovated one which was smaller but very nice. The location is walkable to everything which is great, although the area is not great at night. SF has definitely been changing, gentrifying, but this area hasn't caught up yet. - Not bad, but not great. Great would have been 'in a nicer area and not having to change to a renovated room.'

Tower 1 -- rather noisy

This is a great hotel. I have stayed here a couple times. However, this time, we were on the 11th floor on Tower 1. It was extremely noisy. You could hear every word of every conversation in the hall, every door close and the street noise was loud as well. I did not notice this time last time I stayed there. Perhaps the towers are constructed differently.

Nothing Special

The hotel is not in a good neighborhood. As someone who is new to San Francisco, I did not appreciate learning about this upon my arrival. I parked our rental car on the 7th floor garage and upon returning the next day, food on the floor outside a room from room service had STILL not been removed. My flight home was late at night and the staff was not able to accommodate me in any possible way. Other hotels in the past have offered a room as a courtesy to shower and change, a half day rate, etc. Even after 3 phone calls, no accommodation was made. Very disappointed with my stay.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

We went to Dons Pistos for dinner one night and the food was fantastic. Great service, great atmosphere and no frills. Wonderful spot!
