Great Location

The room was very comfortable with a very nice shower, but the one big advantage of the Grand Hyatt is it's location. I would absolutely stay there again.

My review of Grand Hyatt San Francisco

I called the Grand Hyatt the day before we were to arrive to confirm a King/non-smoking room and even got a confirmation number. When we arrived, there wasn't a room ready for us and no apology for the inconvenience. We got to the hotel around 8:00pm and got our room after 10:00. Luckily, we hadn't eaten so we went up to their one restaurant and had dinner. The appetizers were wonderful but the two fish dishes we ordered were mediocre at best. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We were torn between which Hyatt location to choose (Union Square or Fishermans Warf) and we were very please with our decision. Fishermans Warf would have been too close to the tourist crowds and not as centrally located.

Best Location in San Francisco

The Grand Hyatt was a hit with my group. The location made it easy for shopping and dining, all within walking distance. China Town was two blocks away and who wouldn't like that??? The view from the romms is terrific! My room, in particular, over looked Union Square from the 12th floor. It was great watching the action and exhibits from the huge floor to ceiling windows. When you go to the 36th floor for dining, the view is breathtaking! I can't wait to stay there again!

Lori's Cafe,a cute restaurant fashioned after the 50's soda fountain bars, around the corner a block from the hotel. Very reasonable for breakfast, lunch and dinner with quite an extensive menu. The music is 50's and 60's and the waitresses are dressed in the old traditional white caps, black dresses and white aprons. Great food!

Good Hotel in Need of Updating

This Hyatt is a good hotel in a good location but it's time for it to be refurbished. I was told this is planned for later in the year. The room is a bit dated and upgrades are needed, but again nothing that would deter me from staying here again. The hotel has no wet facilities which was a disappointment. Still, it is well maintained and if you can get a special rate, it's worth the stay.

Many fine shopping areas are close by; big department store chains; speciality shops... Also a large selection of dining establishments are close by....just be prepared to pay, after all this is San Francisco.

Great busines amenities

The Grand Hyatt in San Francisco was an amazing experience. It was such a pleasant experience after spending several nights in different hotels that I definitely ended up in the best one on my last night. It was clean, comfortable, friendly and helpful staff. It was a great location too, right in Union Square, next to great restaurants and stores. I would highly recommend it.
