Good Hotel

Spacious, clean, eco-friendly room, in a great location

It's a great value, offering all the basics like shower, TV, Free Wifi. It is, however, located in a not so friendly neighborhood. For at least two blocks in any direction the streets are littered with the homeless and drug addicts. Aside from the occasional verbal harassment from a streetside bum, they didn't really bother me. However, one night, I awoke at 4AM to police barging in the room next to mine, lots of banging and yelling and flashlights.

Quite a quirky eco friendly hotel situated in a great location for all of the central San Francisco attractions. Hotel rooms were clean, spacious and the eco friendly products, stying etc were a nice change to your bog standard chain hotels. Car parking was $20 a day which for convenience was decent value vs the public parking lot around the corner. Fantastic location in terms of walking to Union Sq (about 10 min max walk) or there's a tram/bus stop just up the road (3 min walk). Staff were friendly and very efficient, any reported problems (hair dryer missing) were fixed immediately. I'd definitely recommend this hotel in terms of value, location and ease for a long or short break to a great city. Public transport in San Fran was great but if you can get a car hired definitely do it, was very cool to drive over the Golden Gate Bridge and explore a bit more of the city.

The hotel was a. Great price a few blocks away from downtown but still great not much noise...the only bad thing was we could hear the upstairs floor walking all night..but other than that very. Clean

Had black mold on the wall from what looked like a plumbing problem,gross!!!!!

Booked this hotel on playoff weekend, so usual options were booked. Room #1 was right on the street and only one floor above. Could NOT get the heater to work AT ALL. We were moved to Room # 2, quieter, but once again heater did NOT respond to any commands, they sent maintenance guy who showed us how it SHOULD WORK. 45 minutes later and the room is STILL colder than outside temp. Room #3 THEY MOVED IN A SPACE HEATER and we never did get the wall unit to work. Bed comfortable, no frills accommodations (which was what I expected). As I said, could have used heat.

The pics online don't accurately reflect it. Half of the hotel is a motel type outside format. It's pretty tired and carpets are filthy, but in a way quite endearing as they've made the effort around the eco thing. Do not rely on Wifi in this hotel. It's unusable. I had to go and buy a 3G data card. Bottom line - if you're broke it's ok, but buy earplugs and don't go in with a high expectation.

The location was amazing! Everything is near by, within walking distance. Union Square, which is the shopping center with some great stores and great restaurants, is 10min away from the hotel. Our goal was to visit all the sightseeing of the town, so we basically stayed at the hotel just for the shower and sleep. The only problem we had was the the absence of heater. It gets chilly at night, so we wanted to turn the heat on but all we could find was the A/C. So, that was the only downside to it. Overall, the hotel is very compact, clean and the staff is very nice and friendly. The hotel is perfect if you are traveling with some friends and just want to have fun in San Francisco. From the other hand, If you are traveling with your family, husband or wife, you may want to look for something more sophisticated than the Good Hotel.

We enjoyed the brightness and cleanliness of the hotel and the friendly staff. The beds were very hard and it would have a higher score on the room comfort if they were a tad softer. It was really nice to see automatic dispensers full of soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Would have also been a bigger plus if the rooms came with a small refrigerator. Overall we were very happy with the hotel and would stay there again.

If you are traveling on a budget and are looking for a nice, clean place - it doesn't get better than Good Hotel. Environmentally conscious amenities, clean space, nice staff, centrally located. Rooms are a bit small, but I prefer small and clean over big and dirty!!!
