Convenient Motel
Location was not an issue as bus line #38 needed just 20 min. to reach down town. Room was really clean although a bit small for two twins. We got good help from the front desk man when an urgent phone call was needed.

Great price for the location
We arrived late in the evening (8:30)and the hotel manager was sitting in the office waiting for us. There was one space left in the lot & was just big enough to fit the economy car! Not many spaces available and I did see some street parking but I don't know if metered or not. The hotel is on a busy street and our room was on the 1st floor near the pop machine. We heard the noise, but it was not that bad. I brought ear plugs and did not use them. The room was small, but extremely clean. The bathroom deco is beautiful. There is very little counter space and the shower is only about 4 x 4 feet, if that. Guests get a comfy bed, micro & refridge for the price, which is outstanding for the area. We missed breakfast-before 9am but apparently juice & danishes only. There is no lobby or access to a computer. Bus stops are right outside the hotel.

Short drive from hotel
Rented bikes at the Golden Gate Bike Shop, to ride to GGB and around the Golden Gate Park. It was a nice ride in the park, but the ride to the bridge was a bit confusing. Followed street signs from the park and ended up riding along the sidewalks & streets to the Baker Beach area. I am not a frequent biker and the hills started to get a bit much, so turned back and drove from the park to the GGB lookout area. Very glad I did. No way would an amateur make it up those hills! Beautiful views along the way to stop & take photos. Baker's Beach was really nice also.

Geary Parkway Motel Review
The hotel was very clean and the owner was very friendly and helpful. The price was just right. It looks awful from the outside but the rooms are fine. Also, the surrounding area might look sketchy at first but we were able to walk around at night safely. Lots of awesome dim sum restaurants nearby. Far away from downtown San Fran, FYI.

Doesn't Need Highbrow Rooms
Great value for clean, modest rooms
The Good: Updated and clean rooms. Comfy beds. Great value. Free parking. Well located for those who want to be near Richmond/Golden Gate Park/UCSF/quick travel to Marin County. The Bad: Sometimes noisy (Geary is a main thoroughfare). Rooms are small. The food component of "continental breakfast" was just individually wrapped Danishes. Not esp. convenient to downtown w/o car. No round-the-clock desk service. Deceptively chintzy outside appearance.

Better than expected
We were a little hesitant about the hotel when we first arrived. The parking was free but was very limited and very difficult to maneuver. Once inside our room we were pleasantly surprised to find an updated room. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was VERY clean. We would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again in the future.
