Staff was very helpful. Bed was comfortable a big plus, street noise during business hours, heavy curtains helped block the noise. Was quiet during late sleep hours. Really enjoyed our stay and will be back.

GREAT week in San Francisco

The only thing missing was a larger restaurant in the hotel. Location was perfect. Easy access from the airport via BART (lowest cost). Easy access to Trolleys and Cable Cars. No need for a rental car. We took a City Tour, visited China Town, Fisherman's Wharf (Pier 39), Alcatraz, Wine County, Yosemite National Park, and the Aquarium. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. They were especially knowledgeable in where to go and helpful in making reservations.

Great weekend getaway

The Galleria Park Hotel was a fantastic location - we walked to MOMA and the theater district. Lots of great restaurants and shops were close as well. Our room was facing the street but we did not find it noisy at all. We liked looking out at the buildings in the neighborhood. Loved the wine hour in the lobby and the coffee maker in our room. The only thing I would add would be a brighter light over the bathroom and hall mirrors.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

End the evening with a drink at the top of the Hyatt Union Hotel. There's a great piano player there and the view on a clear night is wonderful.

Noisy Location - Unhappy

San Francisco, pretty city and pretty noisy, it seems, at night. There was a big construction going on across the street from our room, very noisy and it made it very difficult to sleep. The street noise is also considerable during the week (things beyond their control). The room: the bathroom fan was not working and after they 'fixed' it, it would only make noise and not extract any air from the bathroom. The shower curtain had that pink mold at the bottom. They "upgraded" us from a double bed room to a king+pull-out-sofa. This was done without our consent and before we even got there. This was a total DOWNGRADE. The staff seems friendly enough. I wouldn't stay here again.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

If you are planning on getting on the cable cars, it is best to buy the Day Passport, which gives you a lot more flexibility and gives you access to all the MUNI modes of transportation. Important with so many people in the city and waiting times.

Very convenient and friendly hotel

We were doing a grandmother/mother/daughter trip and shared a room with 2 full beds. The room was not the largest, but it worked for us. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly! The bathrooms were extremely clean and I loved the terrace with the walking track on the 3rd floor. Would definitely stay here again. The rate could not be beat, although the mini bar was pricey. I did enjoy the affordable room service from the sushi/mexican cafe next door.

great location

Beautiful old building. Our room was small but really when you have the whole city to explore all you need is a bed. The king bed was comfy. All the staff was friendly and polite. Centrally located to everything. (Shopping on Post is one block behind) Our 2 favorite pubs Murphy's and the Irish Bank inside the block. Great breakfast places within a few blocks. It was very relaxing.

Central location, tiny accommodations

The hotel has a nice location, close to China Town and Union Square for shopping. However, the rooms are extremely small, one other guest compared them to a walk in closet! If you are positioned in a room facing the street, it is very noisy throughout the night. Window air conditioners are not very effective...For a single traveler, it would probably be fine...but for a family, you cannot walk past each other...someone has to move onto the bed or back up to let you pass.
