Great value on the right dates

Would recommend Thu, May 29, 2014
Walking into the Fairmont Nob Hill, your stresses seem to melt away. Staffing, ambience, room comforts, etc., all match up to a very great experience! Use non-prime days to get REALLY great deals at this 5-star hotel.

Dining

walk down to chinatown if you want a superb meal for under $10.

Great Weekend Getaway

Would recommend Wed, May 28, 2014
This hotel is beautiful, the rooms are pretty and cozy and make for a wonderful weekend getaway. The only downside is that walking back to the hotel from Union Square is all uphill, so for people who are out of shape, it is quite the workout. My only complaint is that the cleaning lady threw out two bottles of water that we had in the room, so I was forced to purchase the water in the mini bar for $8.70 (rip off) because it was too late to go find a Walgreens and I was so thirsty after that long walk back to the hotel. Otherwise, it is was great!

Nob Hill Perfection

Would recommend Mon, May 5, 2014
From the moment we pulled up to the panoramic views of the bay area and city we were floored. The concierge was incredibly helpful and aside from the lack of free WiFi access everything else was perfect. As far as the hotel food goes...avoid the Tonga room. Its a total tourist trip where the prices don't even come close to the quality of the food or service. Total waste of money unless you are with kids. Also it books up quickly so make a reservation. Next time I stay in San Francisco on business I will definitely be staying back at the fairmont as it is the best hotel dollar for dollar if you prefer the finer things in life. My girlfriend and I overall loved it. Thanks again for a great night.

Dining

If you are celebrating or looking for a great meal or wine list check out The Boulevard or RN74. Both are a 5 minute cab ride from the hotel and were incredibly unpretentious for the quality of service and food we received.

Fantastic hotel

Would recommend Mon, Feb 24, 2014
We arrived st the Fairmont, were greeted and escorted into the lobby. The Fairmont is a grand Hotel of the 'old School' and the lobby is stunning. After quick check- in we were taken to our room ( exterior, king) on third floor. Because the price was so reasonable, for San Francisco, I did not expect the absolutely stunning bay view, facing Alcatraz and Coit Tower. Truly stunning! Third floor was entirely renovated and beautifully appointed. I travel with a service dog , well trained and the staff were very charming and accepting. The Fairmont, with its rich history, beautiful architecture, stunning views and location atop Nob Hill, is now our favorite hotel as long as they stay affordable !

Great San Fran Hotel

Would recommend Fri, Feb 21, 2014
The hotel was very luxurious and had a nice historic feel. The room was very clean and large. A bit on the expensive side but if you can get a discount I would recommend it.

Attractions

If its your first visit I would recommend one of the tour buses that allow you to hop on and off. You get to see a lot of the city and can pick and choose which stops you want to get on and off of.

Can't beat the history or location of this beautiful hotel. Room was clean, well furnished, everything was in working order. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The Tonga Room is a unique and fun experience. Did not eat at the hotel but the food selection appeared to be great.

Dining

China Town is so close, go there for a great Dim Sum lunch or snack.

Fans of Fairmont

Would recommend Mon, Nov 18, 2013
After spending a week at the Chicago Fairmont, we were looking forward to our stay at the San Francisco Fairmont. We were NOT disappointed! This is a 5-star hotel and the flagship of the Fairmont properties. It is stunningly gorgeous, staff is excellent, room was clean and oh so comfortable. We loved spending our 25th anniversary here and will be back. The only thing to know is that it's not as close to Union Square as we would have liked. Cafes, restaurants, shopping is in Union Square and there are none in walking distance from the Fairmont.

Time saver

Take the cable car!

1st class hotel with beautiful lobby, cool tonga room, and spacious room. Great bedding, nice tv, but needed bathroom fan and bathroom was outdated.

Dining

R & G lounge is walking distance (grant st.) and has great Chinese food. Salt and pepper garlic crab!
