Stay at the Executive Hotel Vintage Court

Two friends and I booked a room at this hotel for the nights right before and right after the SF marathon. For what we were looking for, the hotel worked out great: perfect location and relatively affordable price. On the negative side, there was a bit of a moldy smell in the corridors and in the room (but after opening a window it was ok), the room seemed to be a bit run down, and the wifi didn't work very well. On the positive side, the staff was nice, and our room was clean and spacious.

Location!

Staff was great and the location is ideal. The gym is horrible, it is a hotel room with 3 machines in it. The bed and or pillows are so uncomfortable that I still have pain in my neck...

Decent no-frills hotel

This hotel was a good place to lay my head for a work trip. Location is great, staff is friendly, and (for SF) it's a decent value.

Overnight business trip

Handy location but a little run down, staff friendly but not too informed about getting around the city. Not bad but other places are better for more than one night.

Very good location

Ok, the hotel is kind of "vintage" but for the price and the neighborhood, it's very good!

Great location for touring and shopping

Registration and check-out were done quickly. Front desk staff efficient if not overly friendly and informative. Union Square and Chinatown within easy walking distance. Cable car nearby but often crowded and a little expensive compared to trolly lines, which can get you to Fisherman's Wharf. Beware of pickpocket(s) at Fisherman's Wharf; particularly on harbor tour (sadly learned from personal experience). Room seemed a little "old" but quite adequate for just a place to stay. However, bed(s) were very comfortable. Because of location and price would recommend to another person.
