Edwardian San Fran Hotel

The website said the rooms had jet tubs, which it did not. The website did not mention that the parking was off site (approximately 2 blocks), and it cost $18 to park overnight & we were asked to have the car off the lot by 8 am! There was no ventilation in the room. The windows did open, but there were no screens & there was a fire escape on the outside of the room. The hotel staff asked me to print my cheaptickets itenerary before I left because they had no record of payment.

Edwardian-loud nights in SF

I'm sad to report a bad review for this hotel. I was guaranteed a queen bed, but when I arrived the room had twin beds and the room had NOT been cleaned. Disappointing. I was eventually given a queen bed, but with the noisy traffic and the downstairs wine bar playing their music loud, I wasn't able to get much rest at all. Disappointing. Definitely do not recommend.

Quaint but not a family location

The hotel was quaint, the bed fairly comfortable, however, don't stay here in the summer - no air conditioning. The building was constructed in the early 1920's. Not a good business travel hotel - no irons or pressing services. no closet in the room I was in, which was front facing on a busy street, so not restful either. It is in the middle of the performing arts center, but not completely gentrified. I didn't feel safe venturing out at night.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Zuni's cafe/restaurant had exceptional food - long waiting time, so call for reservations in advance. It had excellent service and great ambiance.

You get $65 worth

Rooms are tiny, awkward, dated. Not comfortable, but also not disgusting. Note again how much you paid. It's in the heart of the city within walking distance to many restaurants, and with many public transportation options. If you're spending all day exploring the city and only need a place to sleep, this'll work. If you need lodging comfort or expect to spend significant time in your room, open up your wallet and stay elsewhere.

Don't waste your money!

First we waited out in front of the hotel for 15 minutes because the door of the hotel is locked and is opened only by the front desk. Then when the guy opens the door, he takes his time walking down the stairs while on the phone and another customer. We didnt get no apology or any greeting. It smelled horrible. The room was small. Cracks on the walls and stains on the sheets. Then my wife and I started to itch and got bite marks. We booked for two nights but only stayed one night. As we checked out, the guy at the desk didnt even care or ask why we were leaving early. The customer service really sucks and its not worth staying there. We wanted a nice little getaway, but instead wasted money at this place.

Mis-led and very unhappy

HORRIBLE! The only word to describe this place. So BAD I left to go to another hotel. Adjoining rooms and one didn't have a shower. My friend was told she could use the one in the HALLWAY. Or share mine. No clean, no air conditioner and the windows would not open.

AWFUL AIN'T THE WORD

Some call it a boutique hotel; I call it a sham. Dirty, tiny room, warn out furniture, and a bathroom that makes a h.s. bathroom seem like the Taj Mahal. I arrived very late and found that I could not get into the hotel unless I made a phone call. In by 3AM and out at 8AM.

Dicey Neighborhood

We were hoping for more, but perhaps our expectations were too high. This is not in a good neighborhood, it does not feel safe to walk around at night.

Dangerous location

The room was so small that there was no closet or wardrobe to hang your cloths. They have no AC only steam radiators for heat and if its on its on if not then tough. The area has a very rough crowd with homeless and drug dealers at the corners. The staff was helpful and nice. They need to go to card keys because they give you this big old room key to carry around and its not safe because it has your room number on it. The bed was very comfortable and there is a few good restaurants near by. It was cheep enough for San Francisco but you could do much better!
