A good time!
My son and I were in San Francisco for two days before going to Sonoma for a wedding. The hotel was good for our needs and the price was fair for the area. The rooms are a bit small but the location near the wharf is great. The staff and service provided is the main reason I would recommend this hotel. Everyone we encountered was friendly and very helpful. I hope I have another opportunity to visit this wonderful city and if so, will likely stay here again.

3rd time a charm-not
Our 3rd stay at the Tuscan, great location, friendly and helpful staff. Good value, but..... The lobby was being renovated(which we didnt know about), being modernized- to bad- the thing that brought us back to the Tuscan was the"Italian" theme and particularily the lobby. It was disorganized, long waits for the elevator, room was not very clean. We will miss the "old" Tuscan! Sometimes changing an already good thing doesnt make sense!

Money-saving tip:
Not Applicable
Use the Muni pass, parking is expensive. For a long stay I would not recommend bringing a car. Plus its fun to walk the neighborhoods, ride the trolleys and cable cars. The Muni goes everywhere in town.

Close to Wharf
Hotel room was small for the price but everything was very clean and comfortable. Was good to have the valet parking since parking is at a premium in the area. Hotel staff very friendly. If you're a walker, you can walk just about everywhere.

very good location but....
the location for fisherman's wharf is very good and our room was comfortable and clean, we requested the courtyard side which was quiet at night. The restaurant is a little seedy to be honest and in need of a renovation and is very expensive for such mediocre fare. The wait staff is ok. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend it primarily for the location.

Medical Visit to the City
Upon arrival the desk clerks could not locate our the reservation arranged by a major on-line travel agency; I don't know that they ever did but they finally ran a copy of our confirmation and checked us into the hotel, albeit onto a floor being renovated. There was a lot of work being done all around us and I'm sure that our room was not yet up to the standards of the hotel. Even so, the stay was not altogether unpleasant. The desk clerks in particular were friendly and accommodating. And I was surprised to get a significant parking rate discount for driving a hybrid. It's probably a reflection of the city rather than the hotel but my wife and I walked back from dinner on the wharf and the sidewalks were littered with homeless people. It was a little disconcerting.

A convenient location to Fishermans Wharf
We definitely enjoyed our stay. The location can't get any better because it is close to Fishermans Wharf. From here you can walk to Pier 39, Ghiredhelli store, the Boutin Bakery, seafood restaurants, catch the Trolley bus, take local buses to get around town, and we even walked to the famous Lombard street from here! My stay was just to enjoy the city and this hotel was the perfect location to do everything!
