Best Western Plus
The room was small, but very clean. Only view was an inside courtyard. Hotel staff was very cordial. Managers reception only had Trader Joe's "two buck Chuck", not great for wine lovers. Definitely would stay here again.

Medical Visit to the City
Upon arrival the desk clerks could not locate our the reservation arranged by a major on-line travel agency; I don't know that they ever did but they finally ran a copy of our confirmation and checked us into the hotel, albeit onto a floor being renovated. There was a lot of work being done all around us and I'm sure that our room was not yet up to the standards of the hotel. Even so, the stay was not altogether unpleasant. The desk clerks in particular were friendly and accommodating. And I was surprised to get a significant parking rate discount for driving a hybrid. It's probably a reflection of the city rather than the hotel but my wife and I walked back from dinner on the wharf and the sidewalks were littered with homeless people. It was a little disconcerting.

Geat Place, Ideal Location
We stayed there for three nights and we loved it. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they gave us very good restaurant recommendations. The room was very clean and comfortable and the location is ideal, there is even a full size grocery store a block away if you want to save money on dining out. If your looking for a good launching point to tour the city I think it's perfect. If you want to spend more time lounging in the hotel and using facilities this is probably not the place for you.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Head to the Safeway around the corner for sandwiches and such to save some money as eating out in SF for several days can get very expensive.

Girls week-end away!
This hotel is one of my favorites on the Wharf! Complimentary coffee/tea in am, wine in pm. Rooms clean, beds VERY comfortable! The staff is fabulous! Any small issue was adressed immediately. The Italian Restaurant is wonderful. To feel this safe in a big city is really important to us. Fun trip!

Nice hotel in the Wharf area.
We have stayed in San Francisco many times, but this was the first time we have stayed in the Fisherman's Wharf area. I have always wanted to stay away from the tourist areas and this one block from the wharf. We were pleasantly surprised that the was very convenient to transportation to all areas of the city. It was an easy walk to North Beach where we spent lots of time. The room was very nice. There were four of us in the room and although the room was somewhat small, it was comfortable. The staff was very helpful with restaurant suggestions and directions. The only negative is that the garbage trucks come by about 5 in the morning and it can be noisy for about a half hour. We were on the second floor by the street, so it may be quieter on another side of the building. It wasn't too noisy other than the garbage trucks.

A good stay....could have spent a little attention on the details this time
My suggestion: $120-$130 is a great deal for this room. If you are booking it for more, do factor in that you will have to pay a minimal $25 parking/ night and their lot fills up fast...next closest one is $35/ night. Everything was nice this stay except for the morning. I went to their Coffee area....no coffee or creamer whatsoever. All they had was some decaff? It was only 9 am. The hotel staff didn't seem to interested in helping us. Oh well, Other than that it is a great marina district location.

good value for location and cost
We booked two rooms for our kids and ourselves and were very pleased with this hotel. The registration desk staff and service staff were very friendly and the hotel is ideally located near the water and a Bart station. There was no street noise though the room walls were a little thin, but nothing too bad. The only detraction is the cost of overnight parking which was high. We would stay here again though and plan to do so for two nights next time around.

There's a nice, reasonably priced cafe for sandwiches and good coffee about two blocks from the hotel down Mason Street called the Capricio.
