BEST WESTERN PLUS Tuscan Inn at Fisherman's Wharf

Very elegant at affordable prices.. The wine bar every evening was real nice..Along with the assorted food item made for a nice touch. The lobby has been redone, I am told, and is very cozy and comfortable, with a concierge on duty all day.. Free coffee in the morning with hot apple cider all day and complimentary newspapers...Very helpful and friendly staff - one of the best hotel experiences we have had in a long time.. Our original room had a problem with the heat, so we got an upgrade at no extra charge.. The room was immaculate and very clean..After staying there, we walked around the area and looked at the other hotels, and what I liked about the Tuscan was the clientele seemed a cut above the rest and it wasn't as noisy and hectic as some of the other ones.. The shuttle service from the airport to the hotel (Lories) was the way to go.. Saved expensive cab fare.

We came for one night and chose this area since we wanted to be within walking distance of shopping, eating and entertainment. This hotel was perfectly located at just one block from Fisherman's Wharf and adjacent to a Trader Joes, Safeway, Ross, Costplus World Market, IHOP, parking and of course, Fisherman's Wharf. considering real estate in San Francisco, all this convenience could easily have merited at least $280/night, but we got a great deal at $120!!! Oh yeah, and did i mention the FREE wine happy hour between 5-6pm. I've stayed at a hotel in Japantown, chain hotels out by the airport, all to try and save some cash. But, in saving cash I compromised location and convenience. Luckily, this hotel offers it all. AND with a great restaurant attached to it. AND with valet parking. Even though the room was slightly small, I would return to this hotel in an instant. You've got my business. The staff was courteous, the valet was prompt. To sum it up- Don't miss this gem.

the location for fisherman's wharf is very good and our room was comfortable and clean, we requested the courtyard side which was quiet at night. The restaurant is a little seedy to be honest and in need of a renovation and is very expensive for such mediocre fare. The wait staff is ok. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend it primarily for the location.

Start with friendly knowledgable staff, decent size and clean room, 2 blocks from Pier 39, close to great restaurants, tours and attractions and a beautiful city!!!

We got a comfortable and quiet room with a view to the small flowering yard. It was very easy to reach the hotel from the Cal Train Station by bus number 30 or 47.

Tuscan Inn was very comfortable, good bed, VERY QUIET, room 321, excellent service. Staff was extraordinarily pleasant and helpful. Restaurant on site was excellent. Location was close to public MUNI transportation, including cable cars, streetcars, and buses. Walking distance to Pier 41, and excellent restaurants. Also, within easy walk to Safeway and Cleaners. Thanks to staff at Tuscan Inn for all of their efforts to provide a great hotel experience.

Good value hotel in an expensive city. The attached restaurant was a nice value add.

Had a very enjoyable experience at the Tuscan Inn at Fishermans Wharf during my stay in SF. The hotel is nicely appointed and very very clean. The staff, without exception, were extremely friendly, helpful, and efficient. The location is terrific -- just far enough from the tourist hubbub on the wharf to be quiet at night, but very short walking distance to the wharf's restaurants, attractions, Ghirardelli Square, and many other areas. Amenities are great for the price - terrycloth bathrobes, nice towels and toiletries, iPod docking station/radio alarm, brand-new flatscreen HDTV. (Our only negatives were that the TV's remote control was hard to decipher and so was the coffee maker.) The room was spacious and handsomely decorated. The hotel hosts a wine reception in the pleasant lobby every evening, with appetizers (pizza slices, sausages, etc.) and lots of friendly guests by the big fireplace. There's also complimentary coffee and tea in the morning. Valet parking is pricey, but that is common in SF and the service is fast & efficient. Would stay there again for sure, and highly recommend for a pleasant but affordable choice of lodging.

The location and staff was absolutely amazing and great walking distance to Pier 39 and a lot of great restaurants. I would definitely recommend staying at this place again they also have a nightly wine tasting which is actually pretty good. And if one is not your thing Trader Joe's is right up the street.

The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Adjacent restaurant is convenient. Easy walk to bus stops, cable cars, and street cars. Lots of restaurants close, as well as a Safeway, Trader Joe's and a Walgreens.
