Nautical-themed luxury in National Park at Fisherman's Wharf
In partnership with the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, the Kimpton-owned Argonaut Hotel makes its home in the circa-1907 Haslett Warehouse, next to the historic Cannery building. Decor here is all about a nautical theme -- compasses, sails, rigging and ship wheels. The maritime motif continues in the on-site restaurant, the Blue Mermaid Chowder House & Bar. Many guestrooms also feature views of Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Comfort, Quality and great Location all in one
The Argonaut is a unique hotel, in the perfect location on fisherman's wharf, close to so many wonderful sights. Staff were always helpful, professional and courteous. King room was very comfortable and spacious enough but not huge. Complementary Happy Hour wine and beer were a nice touch. While our stay was so very short, we were so very glad we selected the Argonaut. Wish we could have had more time to enjoy some of the other amenities.

Extended weekend getaway
The hotel was clean and the staff was great. The location cannot be beat - right next to Ghiradehli square and right on fisherman's warf. Everything was within walking distance. The only downside was a first floor room and a significant amount of exterior noise. (ie.. garbage pickup at 5:30 a.m.). Otherwise the hotel was nice - No real restaurant in the hotel but many, many nearby.

Disappointing
Good location, but unfortunately it is currently in the middle of a construction zone making parking and access very difficult. Valet service took from 30 minutes to over an hour to retreive car each time. Price for this "prompt" service is $46 per day. The staff was friendly, but there was just not enough of them to keep things moving. The hotel is unique and the rooms are clean, but just not what I have come to expect from a Kimpton property.

Great Hotel, Great Location
Room, location, and service were excellent - great place for our family vacation, at the edge of fisherman's wharf, cable car turnaround, Ghirardelli Square, views of Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, etc. Would stay again. Note to potential guests - the road in front of the hotel is under construction as of 3/23 and will probably be there for at least 30 days+. A minor inconvenience but you should be aware of it.

Go to Scoma's for a fine dining experience - a 5 minute walk from the hotel. And be sure to try the chowder sampler at the Blue Mermaid.

Great service and location!
Five day stay with wife and 2 small kids. Location was ideal for family, across the street from park, beach, cable car station, Starbucks and 2 blocks from Pier 39. Entire staff was incredibly helpful and polite. The Blue Mermaid cafe attached to the hotel was a great bonus. We loved our stay. Only knock on the Argonaut is that they have San Francisco sized rooms. Smaller rooms but very normal for San Francisco. Great for families!

Well rested mama
Much needed mom & dad time away
Visited Fisherman's Wharf and other tourist spots, drove to Napa/Sonoma for the day, stopped in Sausalito. Location was perfect for our weekend away and for the time of year. Weather was top notch for Spring. Loved being close to the cable car stop and within walking distance of car rental agency. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Mijita in the Ferry Building - really good margaritas, guacamole and tacos. Take the F train or get a ride from a bike taxi.
