Historic resort offers meeting space and a relaxing getaway
Located in Mission Valley, the circa 1953 Town & Country Resort Hotel is the largest privately owned resort and convention center in San Diego. The property combines the very best attributes of two worlds. On one hand, it is located a brief trolley-ride from the restaurants, shopping and attractions in downtown San Diego. On the other hand, it is surrounded by picturesque open space adjacent to a 27-hole golf course. The resort boasts a day spa and outdoor pool complex to maximize relaxation. Two on-site restaurants serve many types of cuisine.
Highlights
  • Golf 27 holes at the neighboring Riverwalk Golf Course
  • Arrange massage treatments through the Bella Tosca Day Spa
  • On-property trolley stop for easy access into San Diego
  • Two on-site restaurants
Rooms

Town & Country Resort Hotel features 970 rooms, including more than 40 suites that vary in size and configuration, comprising two towers and a host of garden bungalows. Each room comes standard with a flat-screen TV, hair dryer, ironing board and in-room safe. Wi-Fi and high-speed Internet access are available (fees apply).

Features

The Town & Country Resort Hotel opened with great fanfare in 1953 and has been independently owned and operated ever since.

Today, all guests receive complimentary access to a pool complex that features three pools, as well as a modest on-site fitness center. The Bella Tosca Day Spa offers a variety of treatments seven days a week (fees apply). The hotel sits next to the 27-hole Riverwalk Golf Course and near many walking and jogging paths.

Two on-site restaurants serve very different types of cuisine. At Trellises Garden Grille, dishes are prepared in French and Californian style. Kelly's Steakhouse is a more traditional meat-and-potatoes type of place.

The Hotel was great, the bellboys where the best ever. The grounds where beutiful and well maintained. Due to the rain there was a musty smell around. The only problem I had was that I had mailed packages out and had trouble getting them, found out after that they put them in storage and it cost to get them out. It took 3 days to get them and all that time nobody let us know that there was a charge. we did end up getting the cost reversed but the manager never got back to me about it. It was great that the trolly and bus station was right across the street and the Fashion Valley Mall was right there. I cannot say enough about the bellboys and all the help they gave us. There was also extra cost for internet, parking and gym.

Getaway tripp

Perfect location for shopping, the zoo, and seaworld, I would suggest that you pack a lunch for the amusement parks. It is very expensive. The hotel was nice. convient location for the above mentioned. The room we had was large, the bed was comfortable, the margaritas were the bomb at O Charlies and the food was a little bit more reasonable than the other restaurant. dont like paying for parking.

Thought we had gotten a great rate at a nice place :/

At arrival to our room we had no blankets and when we asked for them it took about an hour to get and mind you it was already late in the evening. Our other room never received blankets.

Fantastic Conference Event

The only problem is AT&T Internet Connection, which is not the hotel's direct problem.

Not so much...

Hotel has been there for 60 years and although it has some charm it needs a facelift. As far as staff few and far between. They charged us for parking and wifi code saying it was not part of the orbitz deal which takes you up to their regular room rate. Beds and pillows were very hard.

Great Location Near Sea World

This large resort had enough staff at the check in desk so that the line of 100 people checking in moved very swiftly. The room in the Regency Tower was bigger than we expected, with a luxurious four poster bed and balcony overlooking the pool. The room was quiet at night. There were not enough towels for two people and towels were skimpy. There is an additional $12.00/day parking charge that one should take into account when comparing prices. We were quite satisfied with the room!
