Tower 23 Hotel

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Tower 23. The king size bed in our Sky Pad room was the most comfortable I've ever slept on. You can't help but relax when you melt into the multiple fluffy pillows that adorn the bed. We loved the deep bathtub because we are both tall and were able to keep our legs extended and still have the bath water up to our chest. The staff was friendly and helpful. Complimentary cocktails were sent to our room upon arrival and when we asked for a couple forks they arrived within moments. If you ask at the front desk there are beach towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas available to check out at no cost. The valet parking is $20 a night with in/out privileges. There is some free parking nearby, but I never saw it empty. There is also free wi-fi in the hotel. After turn-down service every night housekeeping leaves a couple of delicious chocolates on your pillow. I thought that was a nice touch. The location was wonderful for us. Tower23 is right on the beach so you can either walk in the sand or along the boardwalk and browse the local shops. There are also several wonderful restaurants within just a couple minutes walk of the hotel. It's also only a 15 minute drive from La Jolla where I highly recommend the sea cave kayaking trip. The only downside to Tower23 (and it really isn't that big a deal) is that there is no pool. I realize the beach is right there, but I'm a wuss and hate the cold, so a warmer pool or a jacuzzi would have been nice. There also is no workout room if that's something that's important to you. But I was perfectly happy to jog on the beach.

This place was outstanding, great view of ocean, boardwalk, and the staff was great. I will def be staying here everytime I come to Pacific Beach...

Very attentive staff and fabulous location RIGHT on Pacific Beach just north of the Crystal Pier. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. I rented a bike from Pure Life ($10/day for three days) and rode around Mission Bay and up to La Jolla. Great bike paths!

Good quality, small, boutique hotel with a minimalist design and friendly staff. The restaurant and terrace are great and the location is good for going out in Pacific Beach and the ocean is thirty seconds away. The rooms were too expensive however.

The experience at this hotel was terrific. It had incredible rooms, an updated, chic, modern look, and a superb outdoor deck that looked right out onto the ocean front. Our hotel suite said it had a "partial ocean view" but this view was more astonishing then anything that I have seen in a while. Just staying in that atmosphere was comforting and it made you feel right at home. While there we didn't have a car, so our trips anywhere became very expensive, but with having to pay for valet parking and not knowing the area, we were trying to figure out if the renting a car was a better price, or the taxis. Still not sure. There was a ton to do right around the area and we were always able to walk anywhere we needed to be. The friendly staff was always willing to help and it didn't hurt that everyone working there is extremely good looking. Who doesn't want a great looking person helping them out? Haha. They were always willing to call us a cab, gave us advice on the best way to get somewhere, or even just make recommendations on things to do. It was a true joy to meet these people. It was a superb trip in an exceptional environment. I completely give this establishment 5 stars. Thanks for everything Tower 23!

Rooms were a bit small. No real table seating for in room dining. Bathroom lighting not very addiquate. No pricing on menues, found out meals are VERY expensive. Beds were comfortable, friendly staff. Great ocean view from main deck, but you don't want to rent a room facing deck because of noice and traffic. Found people there not registered at hotel. Address is on beach walkway, so if taking any shuttles or cabs you need to check with hotel first to get directions for drivers.

Great location and very comfortable beds. If you like modern decor, you'll love this place. It was a bit austere for my tastes.

I had a great time at Tower 23. The staff was very attentive and the location was perfect - great beach location. The rooms were very comfortable with a radio to use with my Ipod and the food at JRDN is spectacular. The Good Morning Sunshine breakfast was delicious [...]. The restaurant has an uber cool feeling and if you don't want to spend so much (I had soup and salad though and worth it for sure) you can go to Gringos an excellent Mexican place a block away. The only drawback is they don't have a pool, but it is a little chilly for a pool in springtime anyway and the beach is right there so.... Love Pacific Beach and will stay there again when returning to San Diego.

We stayed one night to meet friends and celebrate a birthday. We had a great meal and had drinks around the upstairs firepit. The sunset was great.
