21st B-day Celebration
Austin ~A*V*Wey~ Nov 20, 2009
I came to celebrate my 21st birthday. I was greeted with friendly smiles and happy birthdays as soon as the staff found out. ... Room was great and comfortable. Front desk was extremely helpful with information of where I should go to celebrate. Easy walking distance from Hotel to Gas lamp (specifically 5th street). And I do not regret saying, just as easy to walk back while drunk. Easy check out...Thank you very much

If you are downtown I highly recommend grabbing a drink at the Altitude Sky Bar at the Gaslamp Marriot. Amazing rooftop bar with views into Petco Park, city skyline, and cliffs of Coronado. Great drinks, music, and firepits/couches.

"Unbeatable location for the price"
Sue Sep 24, 2009
I attended the IAP2 Annual Conference. The Westin San Diego was well appointed, very clean, with friendly and helpful staff, ... and in a great location. It was a very good value for the price. My only complaint was the noise I heard coming from outside the hotel, which was late evening street, rail and air traffic, as well as a loud rock concert coming from the W Hotel down the street on Friday, Sept. 18, 2009. Apparently, there was a beer festival there, which might have been fun to attend if I hadn't needed to get up early the next day for training. Unfortunately I was unable to go to sleep early because of the noise.

Nice hotel, maybe best for business
tk2009 Aug 21, 2009
My husband and I went to SD for a vacation this past August, 2009. We stayed at the Westin for 3 nights. The hotel itself was ... very nice ~ clean, friendly staff, decent pool for a quick dip but not for extensive sun bathing. However, I felt that this hotel might be better suited for business travel. It was about a 15 min walk to Gaslamp district, Petco Park, or waterfront restaurants (short/cheap cab ride though). I felt that the hotels in that area were more amenable to vacationing/sight seeing. So overall, a nice hotel, but the location would hold me back from staying there again for leisure.

Comfortable and a great location
Karla Aug 2, 2009
We were in San Diego for Comic-con. The hotel is right on the Comic-con "blue" tram line. It is also a very short walk to ... the convention center and restaurants. And it is just over a block away from the train station. With the location, it wouldn't need to have great facilities -- but it does. The hotel restaurant serves great food and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly. As a nice plus, they have fruit flavored waters available in the lobby. Very refreshing.

Great San Diego Weekend
Traveler Chick May 9, 2009
I love that they have a free airport shuttle that was fast and convenient. Also, the hotel was in an awesome location. We ... were in walking distance to almost everything downtown San Diego has to offer. The room had a good amount of space and a super comfortable bed. We were hoping to get massages while we were staying there, but they only do them in room. That was a little disappointing, but there are always other day spas in San Diego you can go to. One bad thing about this hotel is that I feel they don't thoroughly clean the room. I found some dirt spots on the bathtub and they didn't take out dirty cups we had taken up from the bar. Overall though, it was a great experience.

Enjoying Stay at The Westin
Travel Lover Apr 22, 2009
We took a trip for our anniversary and spent our time Downtown and at the beach. It was enjoyable and the hotel was in a ... prime location. We walked everywhere. The only thing I was upset about was after I booked the room on Orbitz, I called the hotel to reserve a king bed (instead of 2 double beds), and they would not let me make such a request. I was told I would have to wait until I checked in. We were lucky enough that a king was available when we got there. That is my singular complaint. Other than that, the check-in clerk was super personable and the concierge was also very helpful. The hotel is very nice and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in.

Nice Hotel
Robert Oct 11, 2008
We enjoyed this hotel, it is an newer hotel and the room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is located in the business ... district, walking distance from dining, and we had a partial view of the ocean. We were impressed with the pet friendly room. Parking in the entire area is terrible, so plan to pay for parking, we paid for valet parking at the hotel cheaper than the parking garage. Try to walk if at all possible. Would recommend this hotel!

Edward Sep 14, 2008
The Hotel was very clean ; modern ; easy to check in and out. rooms excellant. I stayed on the 16 th floor. great views of ... the San Diego bay. but to far to walk to the gas lamp district where the clubs and resturants are located. We needed to take short train (orange line) and/or taxi. short on time we took taxi and it was $7.00 one way.
