The Westin Gaslamp Quarter San Diego

I stayed at this hotel while attending a conference at the San Diego convention center. The best part of this hotel is location! It is a short walk to the convention center ~10 minutes. It is located right by the Horton Plaza shopping mall, which has Nordstrom and Macys. In addition, it is located in the Gaslamp quarter, which offers great choices of restaurants. The hotel itself seems recently remodeled. The beds are very comfortable, and the room is spacious. The only downside is the door of the bathroom is hard to close. I was told by the staff that all the remodeled bathroom doors are hard to close because the doors do not have a handle. Overall, I was happy with my stay at Westin Gaslamp.

It was fun, valet was overpriced, beds were comfy, room was always clean, however they would not let us use the bellhop roller without a bellhop, quite rediculous when you feel obligated to tip them anyway.

Staff was personable, helpful, and more than made up for a brief inconvenience with a $50 gift certificate for food/beverages within hotel. Room was very nice, quiet, great beds. Only one restaurant (all meals) in the hotel, but there is a Starbuck's also. Horton plaza mall is on the block. Loads of stores, restaurants in walking distance and access to Old Town trolley for stops all over San Diego (on and off) for $32. Would stay there again for the incredible convenience and location...

Staff was great! Love that great smile. Except for the concierge personnel... the old guy was too blunt for that job. Hotel was great as always and the heavenly amenities were as expected. Awesome overall.

When we first checked in and got to our room i was a little disapointed, given that when we booked our room it showed something quite diffrent. The walls are pretty thin so if you are a guest that is on buisness or trying to get some R&R could be a problem. We were there to have a good time so not so much of a problem for me per say. The plus side of the room was the beds were delightfull, the downside of the hotel is the parking. Yes they bring you your car and the vallet staff is very friendly but paying $32.00 a day adds up. Overall I was pleased, gaslamp district is pretty much steps from the front door, everything is in walking distance.

I have been to San Diego a few times and stayed in the La Jolla area. Decided to stay in the Gaslamp District this time, and the Westin was such a perfect location. The hotel and staff were awesome. The concierge was fantastic with directing us to great restaurants. There was an open air mall next door and so many restaurants and bars within a 5 minute stroll. Walked to Petco stadium to catch a Padres game too! Would definetly stay at the Westin at Gaslamp again.

We traveled for a holiday weekend of theater (musical, symphony, opera), and the Westin was perfectly located, well appointed, and smooth sailing with registration, valet, and room service. The stay was fabulous, and the hotel has a retro cool decor that we loved, while also being very modern.

The service and treatment that you receive at this hotel can not be beat. Everyone was friendly and helpful and treated my friends and I as though we had much more importance than just a trio on a get-a-way trip. The only complaint I have is that the walls within the room are much too thin - I could hear everything my friends did in the bathroom, and I mean everything. Other than that, if such sounds don't bother you, this is a beautiful place to stay in the gaslamp district!

The Westin is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of the Gaslamp district which is why I booked a 4 night stay there. However, upon arrival we were booted to the Westin's sister hotel The Sherton because they were over booked and we were chosen to be relocated for 2 nights of our stay because we booked through a "3rd" party, [...]. We were very upset but the Westin made up for the enormous mishap by giving us upgraded rooms, comping our 2 nights at the Sherton which was beautiful as well and over looked the bay. They took care of our valet parking and gave us free Internet. It was a pain switching hotels midtrip but it gave my family 2 different breathe taking views of the SD area.

The hotel was very nice. I especially enjoyed the valet service. It was excellent. I was a little disappointed with the room. For paying the price we paid & for being a Westin, I assumed there would be an iPod dock station & there was none. Also, we could never get the air conditioner correct. It was either too hot or too cold. We had a difficult time with the tv, one of phones did not work, and some of the electrical outlets did not work. Also, we were there over Memorial Day weekend and the hot tub is supposed to be open 24 hrs. I found it strange they decided to clean it Friday night of the long weekend.
