Big, yet intimate at Gaslamp District hotel with shopping
Don't let the size of The Westin Gaslamp Quarter San Diego fool you. Though the hulking property boasts 450 rooms, the lodging experience is intimate and cozy. Many rooms have striking views of San Diego Bay. The hotel sits adjacent to Horton Plaza, one of the biggest shopping malls in San Diego. The on-site restaurant, Pinzimini, offers upscale Italian cuisine.

Nice Hotel, but the water was turn off
The Hotel itself was nice and clean, but the water was shut off when we checked in. So we called the front desk and they said hopefully it would be turned on within the hour. An hour later, the toilet flushed, but no hot water. We had to get ready for a wedding, so we showered in the cold water anyways. The next morning, the hot water was working for 15 min. then it was cold.... For the price we paid, this is why i gave it 3 stars.

Amazing
The Gaslamp Westin was heaven for my friend and I. We are in grad school and decided to splurge, and it was totally worth it. The location was perfect, the beds comfortable, and the staff was very nice. The only thing is the concierge said she would make us a reservation and then never got back to us, but otherwise my trip to San Diego was one of the best, mostly because of the Westin.

Worldwide Runner
Convienient to Gas Lamp for a Great Price
Almost stayed elsewhere due to comments regarding construction, but glad we stayed here. Great central location to hit Gas Lamp District or head to the Bay. Worth every dollar.

it was a great experience it was one draw back it had construction going on inside and outside of hotel other than that it was one of the best i've stayed in.

Weekend trip
The hotel is in a great location and was a decent price. The only issue we had during our stay was how the construction affected getting in and out. With only 2 functioning elevators sometimes it took a very long time to get in and out (over 20 minutes on a few occasions). Other than that it was a good value, the rooms were nice, and the vallet was quick and friendly.

Business trip
They were renovating at the time so a little inconvenient but it is nice now. Great location. Nice rooms but my view wasn't great. Couldn't leave early because I prepaid was the only problem and that's because policy not hotel's.

Hotel was in a major renovation project
Overall a good experience but the hotel was undergoing a major renovation. As such, not all amenities were available. Location is good though with major attractions nearby and a good selection of restaurants.

Great Location
From the minute I got out of the cab and into the hotel the Staff was impeccable from the Bellhop to the Check in. The restaurant staff was friendly and the food was great. The swimming pool, workout room and jacuzzi were clean. The hotel is centrally located downtown you could either walk or take a cab and wherever you went the cab fare was nominal.

The Westfield Shopping Mall has every store you can think of right next to the hotel. The hotel does not have vending machines nor gift shop and does not stock munchies in the room so if you like a snack at night or during the day bring your own.

Construction!
I booked my hotel based on the pictures and location, nothing in the description, however, said there would be a ton of construction on the building. While napping mid-day, I was awoken by a jackhammer. Also, some of the main parts of the hotel were closed off due to the construction. REALLY disappointing. Kind of felt like a bait-and-switch type of situation. Not a terrible place though. Just make sure they're done with construction before you make a reservation because you won't get what you pay for.
