Big, yet intimate at Gaslamp District hotel with shopping
Don't let the size of The Westin Gaslamp Quarter San Diego fool you. Though the hulking property boasts 450 rooms, the lodging experience is intimate and cozy. Many rooms have striking views of San Diego Bay. The hotel sits adjacent to Horton Plaza, one of the biggest shopping malls in San Diego. The on-site restaurant, Pinzimini, offers upscale Italian cuisine.

Love From Minnesota NCG
Short & Sweet Business Mixed with Pleasure Trip
The staff at this hotel were amazing! They were so accomodating with every request from late-night food to pool-side service. The concierge was knowledgable about tourist attractions and local favorites for shopping and eating. Finally, the housekeeping staff accidentally broke my travel companion's bottle of cologne while cleaning our room, and they had a brand new packaged bottle with a note waiting for him when we returned to our room. Excellent location in downtown San Diego, this hotel was worth every dollar.

Construction zone
There was a lot of construction at this hotel which significantly impacted the experience. The people at the hotel were excellent which made up for some of the inconvience and noise. I know businesses need to improve and get better but I think the guest should be given a heads up on something this significant going on at a vacation spot. I can imagine that this is an excellent hotel in an excellent location when all the noise and construction is not going on.

Way over priced, but good location
Decent location in San Diego. The Gaslamp is fantastic. But for the cost of the hotel I expected something that felt like luxury, and ended up only being surprised that the water bottles in the room were free. I'll be looking out for hotels that are half the price for the same experience, or pay the same for a boutique hotel that provides a very personal feel.

Definitely check out the restaurant Neighborhood, Crab Hut, and Escape Fish. All out of this world and right around the corner.

Pricey but OK
For the dollar you spend on this hotel, you would expect to have a little extra something. It's just average, the customer service was OK, you have to pay for your internet (and it's not cheap!), the food at the restaurant is good, but overpriced, and if you need to reheat your food, there are no microwave ovens anywhere in the hotel. I actually asked the customer service, and they said for safety reasons they do not have microwave ovens, I think that's silly.

perfect location
hotel staff were pleasant enough. Didnt really make themselves available, though. The room was a bit crowded but clean. We needed more towels and amenites. BUT Loved the location of the hotel! I wouldn't pay that price for a double full bed again. The room is not worth the price. Only because of the locaiton am I ok with having gotten that room.

Great Location
Hotel in a great location. Walking distance to restaurants and bars. Staff were very friendly and nice. Rooms were clean and well appointed. I would stay at Westin SD again. One drawback is the cost of parking. $36 a day. Better off finding parking in a lot around the hotel

Great Location in the Gaslamp
Very welcoming staff from the Valet's to the check in staff to the cleaning staff. One of the better run Westin's I've been to. Located on the top end of the Gaslamp quarter, steps from a mall, a few blocks from the waterfront. It's a quiet, clean well placed hotel with plenty to offer business and vacation travellers.

Rooms are showing their age
Gorgeous entry & lobby; attractive restaurant and bar. Obviously less attention to keeping the rooms looking good. No extras without paying a charge, like receiving FedEx envelope, WiFi, late checkout.
