Great Location for Walking San Diego
From this location we were able to walk to most places in which we had interest: Little Italy, the San Diego Bay area and numerous good restaurants and bars. A shopping mall was next door - very convenient.

Westin Gaslamp Experience
There were problems with the television, the shower head and the television remote over a short 3 day stay. My colleagues staying in other rooms also got the impression they were operating on a shoestring budget. I expect this in a cheaper hotel but not at a $200 per night Westin.

great service
I have always liked the Westin Hotel at the gaslamp and will continue going there. My only complaint was that I feel the parking charges are out of line and should be cheaper to hotel guests!

Welcoming and Wonderful
In town for business at the San Diego Convention Center this was the perfect location. Approx. 10-15 min straight, easy walk through beautiful, clean downtown. Would stay here again for downtown business. Staff was ALWAYS kind and helpful, without feeling over the top. Room was spotless, quiet, and spacious...even after 6 days! Plus they reward you with a $5 coupon to their restraunt if you don't have your linens laundered which I used for a nice glass of wine. Only disappointment was their fitness facility. Website pictures make it look MUCH larger then reality and it was always super hot and muggy - yuck.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
If you get tired of restraunt food and enjoy some fresh fruit, bagels, etc. there is a grocery store "Ralph's" approx. 6 blocks up 1st street that was on my walk to the convention center and helped me save money and eat healthy while in town for business.

Great Location for food and fun.
I was there for a convention and my girlfriend came along for the city. Convention center is an easy walk through beautiful Gaslamp Quarter. There are at least 40-50 great restaurants within 5 blocks, and all have great happy hour menus and specials. The ferry to Coronado is close and a great day trip. The hotel has a nice gym, outdoor pool on 3rd floor rooftop, and a whirlpool. Coffee maker in room and a refrigerator (it says the fridge doesn't go much cooler than 58 degrees, but it worked fine for water/gatorade/beer). Horton Plaza is right there with CVS and other shops for convenience. Overall, great experience and great location.

Excellent location and beautiful rooms.
Surf & Slam basketball with Capital University Women was the initial reason for our stay. The location was superb as was the room and the hotel in general. The only thing a bit out of line was the price of the morning buffet at $ 22 per person. Luckily a new Panera Bread opened across the street and both of us enjoyed great breakfasts for a total of $ 10. The Old Town Trolley tour and all of the near attractions were greatly appreciated.

Rather chilly for our stay in late December. Take mostly long sleeve tops and a relatively heavy jacket.

The Westin Gaslamp District
We had a great time. Everyone was great. It would have been nice to have pop machines on the floors and fridges in the room, but we managed. It was such a great location. We would stay here again!
