Old World Charm

Hotel is has a European feel to it -- rugs, sofas, and staff uniforms. I enjoyed the stay not only for the hotel itself but also the location to proximity to theaters and dining.

Westgate,San Diego

Altough old, the hotel is very comfortable, It´s been several years that I stay ther during new year week. staff is friendly. food, perosanlly I think is very good but then you have a lot of options at walking distance. As a client I think the hotel needs some remodeling in some things as the safe box in each room, is waaay old, anyways, ambiance is nice, low noise. Brunch is great and best of all is the location.

Great time!

My grandsons and I stayed at this hotel and were pleasantly surprised with all it had to offer. Our room overlooked a pristine pool. The staff was friendly and greeted us every time we entered. The cookies at the front desk in the afternoon were a nice treat. I would definitely stay there again for business or pleasure. Shopping and dining were within walking distance.

Very Nice Hotel

We enjoyed our four night stay here very much. We were allowed to check in early, and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. We spoke with the concierge a few times for dining suggestions and to arrange a rental car, and she was great. The amenities here are great- free bottled water, newspapers, turndown service, spacious rooms/bathrooms, etc. The decor was a tad rundown in a few spots, but it didn't take anything away from the experience as a whole. The lobby has some interesting pieces, there are fresh flowers throughout the property and the patio/ pool area is very well maintained and nice-looking.

Quiet Retreat close to Halloween Festivities & Convention Center

I stayed at this hotel over Halloween weekend to attend a conference near the Convention Center. Within a mile walk, it proved far enough away to bypass evening craziness, but close enough to make it worthwhile and a nice walk. Amenities: Overall, good. There was free wi-fi and a nice pool. However, the required $15 daily fee for such items was a bit annoying. I got a deal on the room rate, so it didn't bother me too much but for non-business travelers it might be worth a second look. Did not have breakfast and I did not take advantage of the spa or room services, but the offerings looked very nice. Ambiance: It is a lovely hotel. Not modern, but it has a very well-kept and charming old-world opulence that is a fun option. Rooms: The beds were extremely comfortable, wonderful shower and the rooms were huge. Even on the terrace view it was relatively quiet at night and the turn down service was charming. Overall: I would recommend this hotel for its location and charm. Good for business and couples.
