Behind the bed, an original drip-painting headboard by Yves Clement demonstrates the hotel's commitment to art. Throughout the suite, thick imported carpets and Empire-style furnishings, including a standing mirror, reflect the building's storied past while two 32-inch plasma televisions (one in the living area and one in the bedroom) and an Ipod dock keep guests up to contemporary speed. An executive desk, complete with a writing pad and IDD telephone, also provides an exceptional place to keep in touch and make use of the convenient Wi-Fi connection.
- Landmark
- Boasting anywhere from 450 to 600-square-feet of space, Landmark Suites offer an incomparable experience. Entering through the residential hardwood foyer, guests arrive in the suite's elegant salon, where club chairs and a sofa invite guests to sit back and relax at the same time they enjoy a beverage from the nearby refreshment center. In-room entertainment options come via a 32-inch plasma television and an Ipod dock. A spacious work area provides the ideal place to take advantage of the Wi-Fi connection and IDD telephone. - At 300 to 350-square-feet, Signature Rooms represent the core of the hotel. Great stay!
This hotel is located right in the middle of downtown San Diego and was perfect for us. There were so many wonderful restaurants that we went to and never walked more than a block. Anytime we needed a suggestion of a place to go the front desk was always helpful and never gave us a bad place to go. The whole staff was super friendly and was always so ready to help. I wouldn't want to say anywhere else this place was perfect for us.

All in all, decent stay
The hotel was absolutely beautiful and the staff was incredible. A downfall we had here was size of the room. They are very small, almost to the point that it felt uncomfortable. So I don't believe I got a good deal for the amount the room cost. The restaurant was very very good and the staff there was the best I have seen.

Getting old.
Still a great hotel, service is superb. But the building itself is getting old, you can tell by the elevator and hallways. I would try a newer 5-star hotel for the same price next time.

An awesome overnight stay!
The hotel was amazing! The decor is stunning and classy, and the staff was nothing short of amazing. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but room service was quick and delicious (and even somewhat reasonably priced for room service rates!) The room was large and comfortable and incredibly clean. They have a limited number of rooms with bathtubs, however, so if that's your thing, call ahead and make sure you request one. I checked out the fitness center and wasn't wildly impressed - it's in a small basement room, with no ventilation. I also didn't notice any kind of pool - but there was an on-site spa.

Great Stay!!!
We enjoyed the stay. It could have not been better. The Hotel was superb. A very professional and courteous staff. The Christmas decor and ambiance was enjoyable to the eyes and ears. Next time I visit San Diego I will have no hesitation to book at this same Hotel.

Great hotel, near everything
Lovely old hotel right downtown. Wonderful staff. The room was comfortable and clean. Stayed over Thanksgiving weekend and would definitely go back.

Fantastic Hotel
Everything was fantastic with our stay at the US Grant Hotel. It's so close to the Gaslamp district...so that everthing was within walking distance of the hotel. The room was always cleaned and the staff was first rate. Always willing to help...no matter what we needed of them. If we go back to San Diego, we know where we'll be staying. The US Grant Hotel. NO, I do not work for the hotel. Just, extremely satisfied customers.

Brian's 24 Restaurant and Bar at 828 Sixth Avenue (at "F" Street). 4 minute walk from hotel and great food and they're open 24 hours a day. Breakfast will cost $7-$15 Lunch $8-$14 & Dinner $10-$18. Can't beat it.

Gas Lamp Fans
Great Time
The Hotel nice overall. The hallway on the third floor from the elevator to our room smelled and by the look of the carpets, needs a little remodeling. The room however, was clean and very nice, although a little smaller than I expected. The Hotel staff was very attentive and the Lobby was beautiful and clean. Location was good for gas lamp walking. Hotel is at the north end of the strip, but walking from one end to the other is only 15 minutes anyway. This was a great get away for our anniversary. Would consider staying here again, but would also like to try others in the area. Overall a great Hotel.
