The Quaint, Yet Posh Sofia Hotel
Stayed at The Sofia Hotel on Broadway. The Rooms were a decent size and extremely clean. The comfortability of the beds were awesome! I fell asleep instantly. The hotel rooms also include refrigerators and microwaves. It is located next to The Transit Center, where you can find information on city tours, events and buses. It was located next to The Gaslamp Quarter, where all of the fun and excitment occurs!!

Recommend hotel for your first visit to San Diego
We loved our stay at Hotel Sophia. Location was great. Used the trolley buses which were a great way of getting around. Highlights were the free walking tour given by Pamela on the weekends, the hi speed wi fi and we used the bikes on offer from the hotel which were fantastic. Staff were all very obliging and helpful. We would re book if we ever come back to San Diego

Short Business Trip
Only stayed two nights in the Sofia Hotel but I really enjoyed myself. It is a short walk to the great restaurants and bars of the Gas Lamp District. The rooms were clean and nice but a little small. Overall I was very happy with the hotel, the service and the amenities.

When looking for food just walk south down 5th Ave. towards Market St. and there a bunch a great restaurants.

A great stay.
The staff and facilities were fantastic. From the valet to the maid service, everyone was very helpful. The hotel was spotless and tastefully equipped. My only disappointment was the room size. Luckily I was traveling alone, otherwise the room would have been too small.

A nice classy understated hotel
The Sofia Hotel is within walking distance of shopping, entertainment, great restaurants including their own the Currant. Brian one of the clerks working the main desk is fine example of the excellent support staff available to patrons of the hotel. Dr. Miller

Very nicely appointed room, good value, but in a bad neighborhood
Very friendly staff, the room was small but nice. The Greyhound terminal next door with various unsavory and homeless people lingering at the entrance was the only thing that was not good

Nice Hotel
The $30.00 a day to park your car is extreme as well as the $8.00 they make you pay for 2 bottles of water and internet in your room even if you do not want them they make you pay this fee. A big plus was was the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf next door.
