Ten acres of tropical parkland plus two pools on San Diego waterfront
The Dana on Mission Bay is located on 10 acres of landscaped tropical gardens in the center of Mission Bay Aquatic Park. Water views are available from many of the rooms as the hotel is a short stroll from the beach and adjacent to Sunset Park. The Dana on Mission Bay has two pools, kayaks and pedal boats for hire, and a Guest Services staff who arrange dinner reservations and tours on request. The hotel has two restaurants serving great food and a casual atmosphere.

- These extra large guest rooms are located in the Water's Edge area and offer upgraded amenities including private patios or balconies with sweeping bay views and wet-bars with refrigerators, microwaves and coffeemakers. A guy with modest needs
A great few days
We went for a conference. The place was clean and in good shape. The staff were prompt, helpful and INCREDIBLY helpful. One incident in particular: we had a technological problem with one of our devices, and the staff sent a tech guy up who IMMEDIATELY fixed it. It was really cool. PROS: staff were awesome to the point that they added to the vacation. Close to a marina and close to several bus stops. Grounds (outside of room) are beautiful to walk through. CONS: bathmat was kinda gross, but we called and they replaced it in 5 minutes. Location is somewhat isolated if you don't have a car

Perfect Location
We stayed at the Dana for a business trip and it was great. Very comfortable and centrally located. We didn't have time for Sea World, but it's right there if you go!

So so experience
The hotel staff is very nice and the rooms are clean, all on nice grounds. But the internet is desperately slow and the heating/AC is horribly loud. If you don't mind either, then consider this hotel

Great location but needs updating
The location at Mission Bay is great. Hotel itself is average and could use some updating. Was there on a business trip and the hotel served it's purpose. Not sure if I would stay there for vacation.

Too much work
Work Getaway
Hotel was nice and close to location for work. Hotel offered a lot of things to do on Mission Bay. On Demand movies did not work in the room. Hotel offered poolside movies for kids during the evening on weekends. If my children were with me, they would have really enjoyed it.

Excellent family gataway
Family took hotel shuttle to Sea World then enjoyed the short walk back to hotel. Enjoyed the Sea World fireworks show from the restaurant and pool. Next time we plan to enjoy a bonfire at the fire pits that were along the bay outside our room, about 50 yards away. I was there for a work conference but the family had a great time in my absence. Hotel front desk staff was accommodating with a late check out, huge plus.

A short 5 minute drive to Belmont Park and good dinning options. The two restaurants on the grounds were also tasty.

Awesome, awesome!
Beautiful views of Mission Bay, jet ski rentals, paddle boat rentals, bike rentals right there. Well kept grounds. Very friendly staff. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Loved it!

OK but not a repeater
Spent very little time at the hotel as most of the time was out doing business and personal stuff. The location was great for getting to the beach if you don't mind walking a mile. The staff during the week seemed to be more helpful and friendly than the weekend staff. The grounds were gorgeous. The rooms were fine but nothing to write home about. Given a choice I would not return to this hotel. It seemed that there were things they charged for that one might expect to have included in the price of the hotel ... e.g. parking. Also charged for the shuttle to/from airport which was not clearly stated in their website info.

The trolley tour was wonderful! could have done that for several days. Bus transportation was excellent as we did not have a car. lots and lots of walking which was ok but would be very difficult for anyone who has a problem with walking.
