Great Staff - Bad Room

Paid for a Bay View room, which was at the end of the hotel and was actually a tree view room. First night was kept awake by a lady upset with what her pimp was charging for her services. Had homeless people at the edge of the property we could watch for a few days. Staff was wonderful!!!! Room was small but okay. Would go back if I had a better room.

Dana Resort and Hotel

Exceptionally pleasant at teh front desk when we checked in late in the evening. They told us the elevator to our reserved room wasn't working and when i indicated dissatisfaction (I didn't want to lug suitcases up 3 flights) they cheerfully upgraded us to a premium levell room at no extra charge. The room, breakfast the next morning, and the service was excellent. My only complaint was that we weren't staying for multiple nights!

The place to spend some time in San Diego

With plenty of things to see and do right on property, this is the place to relax and spend some prime leisure time. The rooms were a bit small, but being an older establishment, that was the build of the day. They have kept up with remodels and yet retained the "well aged ambiance" that is The DANA......

Hotel was OK

It is listed as a hotel, but is really a motel. The rooms looked old and there was nothing special at all about it. Very small rooms also. The only thing nice was the flora and fauna all around. In general to much money for what you get.

Spend the money and buy a travel book for the area you are visiting. We used it for almost every hotel and restaurant and it was pretty much right on.

Fantastic Staff!

The hotel was clean & comfortable, the location was good for getting around everywhere, The pools and spas were nice, the bistro restaurant had good food and a nice patio area, but what set this hotel apart from others I have stayed in, was definitely the staff. Everyone we had contact with was professional, kind and courteous and all of them went above and beyond to accomodate your requests or needs. They all had great attitudes and trust me, that is a rare find these days.

Great location

Just spent 3 nights at the Dana. Loved the marina views and the pools. The room was very tight but was clean. Biggest complaint was the lack of a bathroom door (there is a door to the shower/toilet room but no the sink area.) Location was great. I would return, but probably only with 2 people and I'd request a room with a bathroom door.

oceanside mini break

The room faced the water, gave the room a peaceful feeling. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only problem encountered was a broken lamp over the bed. I called the front desk and someone from maintence came right over to look at the problem. The light was fixed the next day while I was out.

For the price I expected more

The rooms were a bit like being in a chalet in the UK in 1950, they could have done with both and internal and external makeover. I would have been happy with the standard if the cost was 50% less but do not think even with its location it warrants the price paid.
