Great staff and location.

I stayed at The Bristol on a trip to see the Holiday Bowl and do a bit of sight seeing around New Years. This was my first trip to San Diego and the staff at the front desk made finding my way around easy. They gave me directions to using the trolley to get to Qualcomm stadium and walking directions for everywhere from Balboa Park to the nearest espresso place. The room was nothing special and I would have liked an extra blanket for the bed but these are minor complaints if you are traveling to see the city rather than the inside of your hotel room.

Great weekend stay, worth the price!

This hotel is very convenient it's only four blocks from the gas lamp district and walking distance from the union station. Me and my boyfriend went for his birthday, and had gone previously for my 21st birthday. Both times were a blast and a great stay. We were able to leave our car parked valet and get around by foot, bus and trolley. I would highly recommend this hotel the staff will tell you the best places to go and their personal favorites, they also can help give you any information about local attractions that you may have questions about. I would definently stay again and plan on it in the future.

Buy a trolley day pass it gets you on all trolleys and buses for $5 a day it's the best way to get around, the older man at the union station will help answer any and all questions in detail too!

Great Staff and room, BUT

Upon our arrival to San Diego we were anxious to check into our room and do your tour of the area unfortunately we informed that the hotel would not have a room for us and that they had arranged for us to stay at another hotel. Now mind you we had already paid for the room and were very disappointed with the situation we now faced, packing your baggage back into the car and driving to another hotel. The Bristol did comp our stay at the Courtyard and the night that we did not stay at their facility. We were sent to the Courtyard Marriott which was only a few blocks away. The view from the room was beautiful and we could barely notice the traffic noise below. The room was small but we had no need for anything bigger. The next day I made a call to the Bristol to make sure that they would have a room for us and they did. Once we were checked in we were quite pleased with the treatment by the staff and the room was beautiful. On the other hand the road noise from below was terrible. The room was equipped with a mini-bar which we selected a couple of items from. To my dismay I noticed after opening the chips and another snack that the pull date on the packaging was over four months old. When one pays as much as we did for the room you would expect these kinds of things would not be an issue. Would I stay here again, No there are too many other selections in the downtown area to stay at.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

There are many establishments in the downtown area some are within a short walk others you can take a cab to. San Diego is a great town to visit.

Wonderfull Getaway

We traveled to San Diego to celebrate our 5yr anniversary and to see the football game. The hotel was a short walk from the pier where we participated in servral activities, such as harbor tour and midway museum. Hotel was also a short walk from great dinning spots. We had to pay $26 for parking but saw that it was cheaper than other parking garages. Hotel was across from grayhound station but noise was not terrible. Great hotel overall.

Our trip to San Diego

It was clean and quiet, and even pretty nice once inside, but we didn't like the fact that we were staring at the Greyhound station and homeless people all week. Plus, we were over charged for parking 4 times! That's a lot of money to be charged more than once. The best part was that we were in walking distance of some pretty good food and shopping.

Quiet Elegance

We came to San Diego for our nieces wedding. The Wedding Reception was taking place in the Bristol Hotel. The Reception area was great; good food, great service, good music... open roof and all! The Hotel itself was very classy. Yes we would recomend this hotel for familly gathering or just quiet elegance near busy (and expensive) Gas Lamp District.
