Nice Stay
Overall this was a great place to stay. We were there for a few days and everyone was friendly. The rooms were nice. Great pool deck on the 4th floor. For the price, I would stay here again.

Nice hotel, a bit expensive
I was a bit surprised by the price - I thought more would be included for the money, instead everything is extra - parking, snacks, etc. There is complimentary coffee in the AM and wine in the PM, but you can save your money and stay at another hotel right across the street, and you get free breakfast there...

San Diego Hotel Solamar
I found my stay at Hotel Solamar perfect. Location was key! Staff was more than freindly, very accomadating towards my needs. Helpful with any and all needed directions in San Diego.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
For nightlife, bring a nice outfit and some good shoes. There's so many places to visit within the neighborhood just within walking distance. It helps save time and money on using cabs.
