VJ Nov 2, 2009
We were attending a conference & were smart to rent a car. The parking fee for self-service is worth every penny, because ... it's so convenient to get around all the places with no hassel at all. The staff are really very helpful & take a lot of pride in doing a good job.The conceirge service was exceptional as we were able to go to really nice restaurants that had affordable prices. The location of this Sheraton is absolutely beautiful & the room we got overlooking the bay was really nice to wake up to. [...] Thanks Sheraton!

A GOOD EXPERIENCE AND A GREAT FAMILY HOTEL. ITS HARD TO TRAVEL WITH LITTLE CHILDREN AND DUE TO THE HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS IT ... MADE OUR TRIP TO GO AS PLANED. THE ONLY THIG MISSING FROM THE HOTEL WAS A MICROWAVE NOT ONLY IN THE ROOM BUT SOMEWHERE AVAILABLE TO HEAT BABY BOTTLES. ITS A VERY ESSENTIAL PART WHEN TRVELING WITH BABIES.

My wife and I just got done enjoying a great week at the Sheraton Hotel & Marina vacationing for our wedding anniversary. ... Close to downtown, great restaurants and shopping, the location couldn't have been better. We liked the friendliness of the staff, the "Link" computers for guests to check email and look up dinner for the night online. We really enjoyed it. The Marina is very pretty at night. Would recommend walking shoes for a night time walk around.

A must see is the Point Loma Park & Lighthouse/Cabrillo monument. Google directions to the Point Loma lighthouse. Short drive and the views of the city and ocean are amazing. The park is high up so the views are breath taking. $5 to enter the park but best $5 spent on the trip.

Nice hotel, wouldn't stay again
Lil' El Sep 8, 2009
The hotel was beautiful as well as the pool and other amentities. If you are coming to enjoy the city of San Diego and the ... beaches and don't really plan on spending much time in your hotel, don't stay here. It's more of a resort than a hotel and you don't get the feeling like you should leave. From the description it seemed like there was going to be free WiFi in the rooms, which we had counted on. Unfortunately, we had to stay in the lobby if we didn't want to pay $12 a day for internet in the room. Also, if we had factored in the cost of parking per night ($22 for the self-park option), it would have been nicer to stay at a little more expensive hotel with free parking. They were doing renovations which is nice and understandable but it meant slow elevators and other inconveniences. Luckily, the kindness of the staff made up for it.

Nice hotel
LaborDayvisitors Sep 7, 2009
We went to the Marina tower and were impressed by the hotel. However, they re-directed us to the Bay tower, where our ... reservation was. I was pretty dissapointed being at the Bay tower after seeing the Marina tower. The Bay tower is smaller, not as impressive (more casual), and has only 1 restaurant - more equivalent to a nice Hampton Inn without the free breakfast. The Marina tower had a much nicer lobby and full-blown amenities including an onsite Starbucks and several restaurants. Parking is very expensive (additional $20ish per day depending on self-parking or valet). Room was nice and clean with a decent view (we faced the marina). We tried to go to the Bay tower restaurant for breakfast once, but service was slow and disorganized. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere. Location was great, you can see the bay and downtown from outside the hotel. It's also minutes away from the airport. Most of the staff was very nice, except the night shift front desk lady, who was very curt - I would've expected better customer service.

Super San Diego Value
Super Soccer Dad Sep 4, 2009
I took my two young daughters to San Diego for a weekend getaway and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff ... was very friendly and accomodating in changing us from a 1 King to a 2 Double bed room with a view of the harbor. For the price I paid the location can't be beat . . . right on the water. It's also within a short drive to downtown, the zoo and Sea World. We spent a lot of time at the pool which is nestled right next to the marina. I enjoyed the poolside bar and the kids enjoyed the large inflatables that were offered at a poolside stand. We also had fun with the free table tennis and pool tables. The Wii room is a novel idea that we also tried. We ended our stay with the Sunday morning breakfast buffet that was a perfect way to get ready for our drive home.

Horrible. Highly disappointed. On the second day of our stay the one elevator that serviced the entire 7-floor wing broke. We ... were told to use the service elevators that were accessible behind locked doors. The customer service was horrendous. I called the front desk and let the phone ring for an entire 5 minutes on two separate occasions; I never reached anyone. I went downstairs to the front desk and no one was there. After another brief period waiting and ringing the bell, I gave up and left. My complaint? I requested a bay side room with a king size bed, a microwave and a refrigerator. I received a street side room (with a view of the tennis courts) with two full size beds and no microwave or refrigerator. Parking was ridiculous. $22/day for self parking which was in a dirt lot quite a ways from the entrance or $27/day for valet but you have to wait anywhere from 30-45 minutes to get your car.

I loved the view at the hotel, it was absolutely beautiful. It's a little more difficult to get to places because it's a ... little far, but the drive is never too long. We were right next to the airport yet we didn't hear the planes or anything. It was very nice. Saw fireworks at night because it was still summer time, was very pleasant!
