weekend getaway

I'm not a high maintenance girl so I was able to sleep comfortably enough to give this hotel the thumbs up. It appears as though it was recently remodeled and refurnished with stuff from Ikea (I love Ikea). They had a microwave and mini-fridge in our room which was perfect for chilling our drinks. They had a "continental breakfast" which was an array of plastic wrapped pastries, not really what I would consider breakfast, but it was convenient to grab and go. It's close enough to the Gaslamp Quarters to take a cab if need be but call for the cab yourself, we made the mistake of having the receptionist do it for us and some random person showed up without a meter in their car and tried to charge us $30 for the trip to Gaslamp only 14 miles away. Overall a good experience but nothing extraordinary so I would probably not stay there again.

DIVE INN

Had to ask for clean towels everyday. 2 nights with loud music and people hitting walls and partying until 4:00 a. m. The room was dirty and even had dirty bedding that we did'nt use. The bed was like sleeping on concrete, very low grade bed. We were given 1 roll of toilet paper for 5 days. This is something that should be stocked in the room daily. It was a bad experience. I will never suggest this place to anyone!!!!

Terrible place-don't stay here

This place was not as good as a Motel 6. Outside looks like it has been under connection for years. No lamps for reading in room. TV was very high on a shelf and no remote control. Place was noisy. Beds and pillows not comfortable. It sure wasn't worth the $100 a nite.

Average hotel, friendly lobby

I reserved one room for four people. During the night the room got very hot and so we had to turn on the A/C. It was fine for us but if you don't like the sound of the loud A/C going on through the whole night then you wouldn't like this.

OMG, it's a Motel!

Wow! First impression was OMG, this a Motel but let's look before we judge! The first room most notable had no fridge and the bed collapsed when I sat on it! A fridge was very important as we were staying there for 4 days. The secpnd room offered was smoking, I mean it smelled like a smoker lived there. Of course we requested non-smoking. Third room was the super secret room, it took 2 door keys to get to it and was over the office! It had no phone, no microwave, towels for one, the remote didn't work, the sheets were dirty, the A/C was not as cold as the outdoor air, the room would not cool (we were there for about 2 hours) and it was VERY basic. To be fair, initially the Inn offered the super secret room an additional $60+ per night, then offered it at no additional cost. But the amenities were just not as advertised, nor is the star rating accurate. We chose to walk out and will take up the charges with our credit card company. Very disappointed in the Orbitz responses, "you will have to take the charges up with the Hotel". I don't think so. It was Orbitz that said the rooms had refrigerators, Orbitz that displayed the 3 star rating, and it says Orbitz on my credit card statement, and Orbitz that will have to deal with my credit card company. Very disappointed in Orbitz. Apparently it is news to Orbitz that we rely on their information to be accurate and that they have responsibilities. Oh, the operator also said "we don't put the Hotel information online, the Hotel does". Might as well make it 5 stars then. We will be reluctant to use Orbitz again.
