Good value
The location and cost was good. Staff was very helpful too. The breakfast room had an awful smell so we passed on the free meal, but pool area and lobby was nice. Will try a different place next time.

Enjoyable Shopping Weekend in San Diego
My wife and me had a pleasant shopping weekend in San Diego. This hotel is near to everything: great malls, restaurants, airport and the San diego downtown. The hotel is clean, confortable and has a good breakfast buffet. My wife says: "the bed is excellent".

Good for the price
We got a special deal for a week, which was just perfect but wouldn't pay more to stay here. The pictures on the website do not reflect the reality and breakfast is not as good as it sounds. Like I said, it was fine for what we paid but not special. Staff can be friendlier especially since they don't greet their guests when arriving or making any contact. Could be better.

Warning: Not good
Half the things in this building do not work. The elevator was out of service, and we stayed on the 4th floor. The room telephone did not work, half the lamps were broken, and the window would not close all the way. The shower curtain could not cover the entire tub, so the bathroom floor was flooded. We had to change rooms at 5 in the morning because the thumping noise from the pipes in the wall kept us up. This hotel is made for parties, cause that's all we heard at night. The doors slam extremely hard, so be prepared to wake up throughout the night.

Decent Value for the Non-Picky
Given the planned length of stay and the other prices I was looking at for hotels in this area, Ramada at Hotel Circle came through. Its location on the Circle arguably sucks - you can take a short, but somewhat dangerous (as in no sidewalks) walk to get to a #88 bus going West/South to Old Town, or you can take the #88 East/North in the other direction much more easily to Fashion Valley Transit Center. You can also walk it to FVTC or even Old Town, they are close enough to entertain that, but either way you're in for a fair walk. Amenities are fair - they have a "breakfast buffet" which is really little more than the standard fruit/juice/coffee/toast/danishes - their extra is waffles, big deal. The rooms are nicely provisioned, with the little bathroom extras like soap and what not, even tea and coffee, plus your own mini refreigeator, which was nice. All very clean. The room itself was comfortable. TV wasn't much to rave about, but they do offer adult vids among others (for premium prices). Staff was friendly, helpful, and low key. No complaints there. Snack machine in the lobby was busted when I was there, and the convenience stores at the Circle are a bit of a walk from here. Also, annoyingly, the ice machine on my floor wasn't working. Elevators worked ok, but were old and creaky. All in all, a good value, but don't expect that 'ahhh' feeling. You have to pay more to get that elsewhere. But sometimes, places like this are good enough, and it was.

Time-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Catch the #88 bus to Fashion Valley Transit Center from here if you're a pedestrian staying in the area - that's your ticket to everything else. Buy a multi-day pass at the station machines, and you're set for all the trolley and bus activity you could want. There are a number of #88 stops on the Circle, including stops very close to the Ramada. The #88 takes like 5 or 10 minutes to get to FVTC.
