Leaves something to be desired

The location was perfect for the activities I wanted to do. The rooms were small, but clean. The hotel is an old property! If you want something fresh and newer go somewhere else. Nowhere is the description did they mention the $22/day parking!!

not as nice as it sounded

Hotel was more like a 2 or 2.5. Bed was old, room and bathroom was old also. Cheap for an expensive city but not worth the price.

Great hotel in Little Italy

The staff was great and helpful. A few times all my towels weren't replaced but I easily got them replaced by asking at the front desk. The shuttle drivers were courteous and gave me restaurant suggestions. The free shuttle to the airport was a great addition. I would say the major drawback of this hotels is that it is not quiet. If you are a light sleeper you will get woken up by the random drunk guy who can't ready the signs to find the lobby, or people coming in late with their roller suitcase past your room. The walls are thin and you can hear all the traffic in the courtyard. I really liked the location of this hotel. It was walking distance to the bay, Balboa Park, and downtown. There are plenty of good places to eat nearby. The room was nice and clean.

Nice hotel

Nice modern hotel. Stayed two days on way back from Mexico. Parking was somewhat high and wireless connection was not great, but otherwise I would stay again. Very close to Little Italy and downtown sights and easy access to the trolley. Good location. And staff was friendly and helpful.

Surprise!

The location in Little Italy is great. The lobby of hotel is that of an upscale hotel but when I stepped off elevator I was surprised by a multi-tiered motel. There was a patch of blue way up top but a very depressing view from room window of concrete, rows of doors and dying plants. Floor was not well vacuumed, and the sink top in room wasn't very clean but bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful.
