Overview

The Paradise Point Resort and Spa San Diego embodies a luxury island vacation. Jack Skirball designed the site with the same attention he paid to his film sets. Lagoons and waterfalls sprinkle the island's landscape, and one of the five outdoor pools is reserved for adults. The elegant interior decor mixes subtle and contemporary color schemes with exotic flourishes as the occasional leopard print and black porcelain tiles are paired with quality artwork and furnishings. Each suite contains details including expansive windows overlooking private patios and gardens. The Balinese theme enhances the feeling of residing in a tropical paradise. Many rooms are close to a beach, and the relaxing sounds of the ocean are often audible. The attentive bell staff assists guests with luggage, mail and laundry service.

Highlights

Key facts

The full-service spa covers over 7,000 square feet, and certified therapists offer a variety of hydrotherapy, massage and body treatment styles from around the world. Relax and rejuvenate the body before enjoying golf, basketball, croquet, sailing, jet skiing, kayaking or surfing. The island setting of the resort creates the perfect illusion of a far-away tropical paradise while being close to local attractions. Children are welcome at the resort, and families can enjoy the nearby famous SeaWorld or the San Diego Zoo. Balboa Park is also a short drive from Paradise Point.

Dining

Tropics Cantina
The best of Baja, without a trip across the border! Located at the Main Pool, the Tropics Cantina serves authentic fresh Mex straight from Baja California. Get a taste of Mexicos colorful culture and cuisine in the form of homemade salsa, fish tacos, cochinitas, carne asada and frosty margaritas.
Tidal
Craft and catch converge at Tidal, perched where land meets sea on the shores of Mission Bay. At the helm is Chef Amy DiBiase, curating a thoughtful selection of local seafood and craft beverages that, like the ever changing tides, shift seasonally at Mother Natures whim.
Barefoot Bar & Grill
Barefoot Bar & Grill has been a local favorite for its panoramic Mission Bay views since opening in 1962. This legendary restaurant offers a laid-back atmosphere, lineup of California craft beers, and bold, creative takes on American dishes. Eat inside or outdoors next to a tropical waterfall and sea-life lagoon.
Caveman Pizza Company
This historic cave fires up quality pies, salads and garlic knots using only the freshest homespun dough and ingredients. Available for grab and go, or enjoy free evening delivery.
Bayside Lounge
Drink in coastal views, stunning sunsets and cool cocktails at this intimate outdoor lounge. Cozy fire pits and a menu featuring savory shared plates and boutique wines beckon casual group gatherings and lively conversation, though the 180 views of Mission Bay may just leave you at a loss for words.

Family get away

Paradise point beautiful grounds great rooms! Only negative they charge resort fee and parking even though it's not valet or anything, so we ended up paying $60 a day extra just for fees.

Nice, quiet place very close to Sea World and Mission Beach. A bit pricey, but similar to other resort places. Barefoot bar restaurant was the best in the resort complex, attentive staff and great food.

Wonderful Getaway

Would recommend Tue, Nov 10, 2015
Staying at the Paradise Point resort was lovely. I wish I had stayed more than 2 nights and spent more time at the resort. We got in late Friday night and were greeted warmly. A golf cart took us to our room and the room was lovely. Very clean and simple with a tropical touch. We got to walk around the resort a big after checking out on Sunday morning. It was beautiful. We were able to walk down to the beach and walk along it. The resort when we went was quiet and very relaxing. Definitely will be looking to come back in the future!

Ok place to stay, but not worth the money

Would not recommend Tue, Oct 20, 2015
Rooms were ok. Bungalow style but not very appealing. Room had musty smell and floors are not very nice, tile only. I get it helps with water damage but not the best. The pool options are nice. Used the hot tub at the pool and that was nice too. Staff upon check in was nice helpful and quick. Overall an ok stay and nice location but if you are thinking resort style and beautiful room when you open the door, you may be disappointed.

Vacation

Would not recommend Fri, Aug 7, 2015
This property is not Paradise nor is it really a resort. Despite a very courteous and helpful staff, it is an old and somewhat tired property. Probably OK for a large family looking for a getaway with pools. Great proximity to Sea World.
