Private luxury in Mission Bay with putting course
Paradise Point Resort & Spa is located on a private, 44-acre island in Mission Bay, minutes from Sea World and the heart of downtown San Diego. The resort features more than 450 beach bungalow-style guest rooms amid a lush tropical garden life. Other highlights of Paradise Point include one mile of white sand beach, five swimming pools, an 18-hole putting course, beach cruisers, bonfire pits and a marina with sailboats, kayaks and jet skis. Vacationers also unwind with Balinese massahes at the on-site spa. Guests can choose from three different on-site restaurants, though Baleen San Diego is by far the most sophisticated, serving fresh seafood. The property is also close to Old Town, San Diego Zoo and Gaslamp District.

Pleasant, but not worth the money....

At first glance the room looked great, but then you notice the mould in the bathroom! The hotel has obviously been refurbished, but there are signs of the old building underneath where things have been missed. After staying there a few days, we realised that the room was damp and all our clean clothes still in the suitcase developed a weird odour. There were no drawers or shelves in the room to unpack, just a small wardrobe with a safe that is very difficult to access. It's quite out of the way if you don't have a car and there are no shuttle buses. No restaurants out of the hotel that are in walking distance. So you feel quite isolated if you're the type that wants to explore. The grounds are pleasant. Staff pleasant, but not overly welcoming. We had been very excited about visiting the resort and were quite disappointed. Nothing was outstanding and definitely not worth the high cost. We came back late evening from Sea World to find the room hadn't been serviced. Not what you expect from a $300 a night room.

Surprising

Its like a bingaloo resort. Nice room if you have the one facing the ocean. Resort is large and takes a while to explore. I got a room for $109 so no complain.

Adequate, not outstanding.

"Resort" is on a small beach on Mission Bay (not large) it is not on the Pacific Ocean. Adequate rooms, probably more to do than I engaged in (putt putt, spa, one restaurant) but overall, I would have preferred in hindsight to stay closer to downtown. Drive was about 15 minutes in traffic.

Pictures are much better than real life

It was expensive. Parking and fitness center should be free. The birds swarming the breakfast tables was a bit much. Bathroom sink was cracked, bathroom and room was marginal for a 4-5 star.

For Families only

Nice hotel, the staff was very helpful and pleasant but do not go if you do not have kids!!!! This is very much of a family resort. The rooms are beautifully decorated, but very bright in the morning. Better drapes are needed. Very noisy from the rooms next door and outside. Grounds keeper blowing leaves and cutting trees at 8:30 am on a Sunday...

Can you say nickel and dime?

It was a nice hotel. Close to Sea World and beaches. Our complaint is that is is very expensive. They charge for everything. We paid 4.00 for a cup not a bottle a cup of water at the pool. Two drinks at the pool costed us over 20.00. Also add another 25 dollars a day to park. We felt nickel and dimed.

A place for a birthday party

We came to celebrate for my son's 9th bday and he brought 3 friends. The grounds are a wonderful backdrop for a boys imagination and exploring. They had a great time catching crabs on the rocks next to Barefoot, swimming at the large pool, watching the movie at night, roasting Smores over the fire pit, practicing their putting on the putting course, playing some soccer on the greens and just having a great time. I will say the rooms were something to be desired. They definitely need upgrading and ours smelled. The floor boards were rotting and the bathroom needed attention. However the service was above average.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

bring your own putting green and balls so you can play and not pay. Bring firewood and grab fixing at the store so you can build your own fire in one of the pits on the beach - great for cooking hotdogs & smores - great for families!

Nice Vacation

Hotel surroundings were very pretty, but the room was not particularly nice, and there was a lot of noise coming from behind the room. Also, the in-room tv movie system did not work.
