Private luxury in Mission Bay with putting course
Paradise Point Resort & Spa is located on a private, 44-acre island in Mission Bay, minutes from Sea World and the heart of downtown San Diego. The resort features more than 450 beach bungalow-style guest rooms amid a lush tropical garden life. Other highlights of Paradise Point include a white sand beach, five swimming pools, an on-site spa, an 18-hole putting course and a marina with boat rentals. Guests can choose from three different on-site restaurants, though Baleen San Diego is by far the most sophisticated, serving fresh seafood.

  • 18-hole putting course
  • Relax in the sun on a white sand beach

Rooms

Paradise Point Resort & Spa offers 462 rooms, including 30 bayside suites. All accommodations are beach bungalows, meaning every guest gets a garden view. Nice Vacation

Hotel surroundings were very pretty, but the room was not particularly nice, and there was a lot of noise coming from behind the room. Also, the in-room tv movie system did not work.

nice grounds for sure

for the size of our bungalow, there was a lot of cabinet space in the kitchen....with NOTHING in them. no utinsils or plates or dishrags or anything. too much space given to a kitchen with only a microwave and a mini fridge. we had the worst time trying to get the sliding bathroom doors (2 of them) to shut or open. but the food was good, views were awesome, and was generally a really nice place, aside from the things mentioned above.

great value for your money, but annoying hotel fees and expensive parking

Overall, this hotel was a good value for the money. Here are the pros and cons: PROS -beautiful location and campus -well kept rooms and pretty decorating -close to everything -good number of pools CONS -expensive parking -mandatory daily utility fee -internet was very very slow -room smelt a bit damp and musty -hot tub not open late enough

Went for the Sun

Hotel staff was first class. However, there were just too many things we had to ask for. First, the room had ants. Housekeeping was very prompt and nice about responding to the call. But they sprayed something that lingered in the room for two days which made breathing uncomfortable. Two of the days we left the room for several hours and when we came back the room was still not clean even though we displayed the service card. Never did get that ice bucket we asked for. Used the internet for two days and upon checkout saw we were charge for five. All minor mistakes but they just kept adding up. Ate one time at Barefoot Bar...food was good but TOO expensive. The grounds are nice. The bay gives off an odor when low tide. Probably seasonal. If less expensive I would recommend. No reasonable breakfast for families.

This hotel was very convenient to all attractions. However, San Diego does not light its road signs and getting around was always an experience in the evening. I would recommend if you were not too interested in the hotel ammenities but looking for a place to go see the sites from.

Add on cost were pricey

The hotel surroundings were very nice and the price of the rooms were reasonable, but the add on costs were way too high. $22 per day to park your car, $12 to workout at the gym, $10 for a drink and $33 for coffee, and continental breakfast. I don't think they have any idea on how to get people to come back.

Paradise PT.

the overall experience was pleasant. I would have liked the option of opting out of the daily "passbook" fee as the services were not need. The facility is well placed and tropical the grounds well kept. My true complaint would be that our room was not cleaned daily. The beds were made Period. The sink and tub, mirror, not cleaned. A tissue my husband used was balled up and left atop the made bed.

Adequate, not outstanding.

"Resort" is on a small beach on Mission Bay (not large) it is not on the Pacific Ocean. Adequate rooms, probably more to do than I engaged in (putt putt, spa, one restaurant) but overall, I would have preferred in hindsight to stay closer to downtown. Drive was about 15 minutes in traffic.

Old School Hotel Redone

This Resot Hotel would be better in the summer, we couldn't take advantage of most of the amenities because of the weather. It's spread out with little bungalos all over the island surrounded by old growth tropical vegitation. Felt like Jurasic Park a little. The rooms are very old, but have been redone. There are a lot of details that were missed in the restoration (ex. a good paint job, windows, bathrooms, etc.) Overall it was ok.

Average

I picked the hotel based on the 4 stars it had, but didn't read much more about it. It is set up like Fantasy Island with duplex bungalow style rooms. The rooms were older than I expected so there wasn't wifi in the rooms and to use the computer you had to pay extra. The gym cost extra too which surprised me. The fire pits at one pool were great for somores with kids. I expected more for the money.

Family vacation

The hotel was very nice and location was perfect but... There is a resort fee of $15 per day for items we never used. Everything on the resort was about 30-40% more expensive than at regular stores in San Diego. The service at the hotel restaurants was very slow even though food was over priced. We ate once at the restaurants and went out of way to go to a local store to buy items for breakfast and ate off resort for everything else. The pillows were all feather pillows- even though we asked for extra firm ones they were not really firm.
