My review of Pacific Terrace Hotel

The hotel and staff were great. However for a non smoking hotel nearly 20% of the guests were smoking both inside and outside the room. The staff promptly spoke to the smokers when needed, but they continued to smoke throughout the whole weekend. Rather difficult to walk past their rooms when returning from the pool with the kids considering most of the rooms are only steps away from the pool.

Great Stay on the Beach

My wife and I stayed at the Pacific Terrace Hotel for only one night, but we wished it could have been more! The view from our room was fantastic, and the room itself had every convenience one could ask for. We slept great, enjoyed our view, and had a very relaxing weekend. Thanks Pacific Terrace for the great stay!

location, locatin, location!

The Pacific Terrace was a wonderful experience for my kids and I. We were looking for a smaller, comfortable hotel with a view of the ocean. What we experienced was a fabulous location. Ocean view was spectacular to wake up to, so close you can fall asleep listening to the waves. We travel to San Diego once a year and we will definetely stay at the Pacific Terrace again.

Took my Hotel Standards to a New Level

I have to admit that for a very good price, I have received EXCELLENT, I mean spectacular service. I am a world traveler and stay in 5 star hotels consistently all around the world. Pacific Terrace management gets how to do business. The salaries they pay to the top notch staff definitely pays off. It is the people that make the difference in any business and Pacific Terrace is the prime example. But who needs them when you can stay with friendly, attentive, accommodating and pleased-to-serve staff. VERY GOOD STAFF

GREAT PLACE ON THE BEACH

Your are on the beach. The Capri is right next door to the north and to the south is a Best Western. Everything else in Pacific Beach is a vacation time share where many face the beach and many just barely face the ocean. I liked my room. I had the one right next to the front desk on the first floor that faced the pool. You could see the ocean if you stood up on a chair and looked over the pool area. I switched rooms and was happier with a room that was on the north but angled a little to the ocean. Both rooms were great. The furniture and fixtures were beautiful. My only complaint is that the hallways are very loud or the walls or doors are very thin. You could hear everything that goes on in the hallway. The worst of the noise was the open and closing of the other rooms doors. It seemed like each room door closes with a huge bang. Continental Breakfast was great. Rent a bike or a surf board... There is a great boardwalk good for walking and running that runs along the beach. It is paved and very smooth, great for roller blades or skate board. Bring rolllerblades, back pack, swim wear, favorite beach blanket....Just chill at pool and watch the ocean or go and sit on the beach. Very relaxing.

I rented a bike. If you have rollerblades and a small back pack you should bring them. The concrete boardwalk is great. You can probably ride the bike to Sea World. I took the bus and felt like I should have rode a bike.

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms

The Pacific Terrace Hotel left us with a lasting impression. The room was spacious with two comfortable queen-size beds, wide-screen HD TV, dining area and private porch. We loved the complimentary breakfast and afternoon wine hour. The pool and hottub area faces the ocean with spectacular sunset views and access to the boardwalk. The staff were very friendly and solicitous to our every need. Free WiFi access and printer availability allow for easy flight check-in. Great location in Pacific Beach with many restaurants within easy walking distance and parking available underground.

Family & Couple friendly.

This hotel was both couple and family friendly. We could not hear the family in the next room. I know the children were energetic because I could hear them when their door was open and we were passing. Great service at the pool, constantly asking if guests wanted complimentary drinks. Wonderful complimentary breakfast. Front desk staff were very attentive to my disabled husband, always adking if there was anything they could do for him.
