Pictures do not represent the beauty

Great location, great hotel. I was unsure about the quality of the hotel from the pictures provided. But it is a great hotel with an excellent location. Friendly staff. The only problem is you have to pay for parking or spend some time looking for street parking.

Mission Bay

They didn't have my reservation in the system when we arrived. We received an upgraded room the first night, but wanted an ocean view (and paid for it), so we had to switch rooms the second night. Other than that, the staff was great and the facility very nice.

Pacific Terrace Hotel

I typed in La Jolla for the location and this hotel came up. Was not in La Jolla and was very dissappointed in that. However, the location right on the beach was fabulous!

[...]

We stayed at this hotel because I found a great price [...]. The ocean front rooms were beautiful. The balcony area is not infant nor toddler friendly because it is not very secure. However, it is a small and quiet hotel in a beachfront property. The regular price through the hotel website ranges from 275 to 475 is overpriced [...]!!

Great location

My wife and I have visited this hotel yearly for about the last 5 years usually in Jan. or Feb. This year we arrived on 3-20-10, the first week of spring break. The room was a full ocean view centered above the pool. Unfortunately, the pool was populated by quite a few kids and the noise resinated into our room till the pool closed. I don't blame the kids for being kids ( as we have two teenagers ourselves) but the noise was a bit irritating. The view was great and restaurants within walking distance are very good (Green Flash and World's Greatest) We live fairly close by, so we will come next time in the true off season to avoid the crowds. If you like to hear and see the ocean, like a casual environment this is a higher end overall enjoyable hotel.

Great Time!

Wonderful experience. First time at this hotel and we were not disappointed. Absolutely wonderful views from the room. Great sunsets and sunrises. Our room was 2nd floor right off the boardwalk, so it was great to simply sit and view the amazing weather, people and surroundings. The staff were, frankly, the friendliest we have ever encountered. Everyone, yes everyone on staff greeted you, said hello and asked how you were. Great front desk staff in asking about directions, local attractions and restrauants. One in paticular gave a great recommendation for a fantastic sushi restaraunt about 4 blocks away. Room was very clean, one small problem with thermostat in the room which when we called the front desk, they had a very friendly maintenance guy to the room in less than 10 minutes. We are already planning on returning to the area and without a doubt we will stay here again. In walking the boardwalk and viewing other hotels in the Pacific Beach area, the Pacific Terrace has the best location and private balconies to really enjoy the views.
